Cheaper than Spam for Similar Quality
First off, this item has both Treet and the Pork Luncheon Meat available to buy, despite the two being completely different products. Treet’s primary ingredient is mechanically separated chicken, it’s of a much smoother consistency than Spam/Luncheon Meat, and it’s much saltier. In my view, it’s far inferior in terms of flavor and texture to pork-based luncheon meats like Spam or Armour’s product. As for the Armour Pork Luncheon Meat, it’s quite good and very comparable to Spam while also being lower in price. It is saltier, since most Spam available nowadays is the low sodium variety, but let’s be fair you’re not buying canned meat products for the health benefits. Just compare the ingredients of Pork Luncheon Meat to Treet, and you can see the difference is night and day.My only real complaint about the Pork Luncheon Meat is the cans. They’re supposed to be pull-tab cans, but for me it’s nearly impossible to open them without just using a can opener. With Spam I have no such issues.Wrapping it up: DO NOT BUY TREET. It’s awful, and I’d bet most of the bad reviews on here are about Treet. The Pork Luncheon Meat however is quite good.

Way too salty, worse than spam, tolerable if soaked and use sparingly
had to try one of these when ordering Hormel’s “Spam”. Unfortunately, these are much saltier than Spam, with a bit smoother consistency. It’s fine when finely julienned or diced and used sparingly to add some salty meat to maybe fried rice, but it’s way too salty except in small portions.

    Good price
I haven’t eaten any in a while. I eat a lot when I was younger, and I saw it on Amazon Amazon and decided I would get a can and it’s good just as good as what I always said.

    Bad food! Zero rating!!
Health department should pull this from the market. It’s nothing like spam . Seems to be mostly some kind of oil. It wreaked havoc with my GI tract. Took days to finally clear my system. Worst product I have seen amazon sell. It left a metallic taste in my mouth.

    Amazing flavor!
This luncheon loaf is amazing tastes closer to a real sweet ham than spam does it’s a little spongy but the flavor and price make up for it I made spam musubi using this I tried it cold and seared in a pan both good it had a nice crust unlike some luncheon loafs

    Too Salty
I recall growing up with luncheon meat. Haven’t eaten it in decades until now. Don’t remember it tasting so salty. So salty that I cannot eat it in a sandwich. I cut up a small amount to mix with Yakisoba. I have half left and will probably throw it out. If you like salty stuff then this will work for you.
