I love this filing cabinet. It’s pretty, I can put my printer on top of it. It is well made. It is roomy. My old filing cabinet was metal and just fit standard letter papers. And I mean just fit. The sides of most of my documents were dog eared. This is adjustable for regular letter and legal size paper. I chose letter, so I have room. I have my documents I access regularly in the top cabinets. No bending over! I can sit and access easily. .The directions are a bit sketchy. It did take some time to put together, but the husband is handy and with minimal help from me, had it done in a flash. Didn’t time it. A few hours. With beers. For me. The price wasn’t too bad either.

Beautiful well engineered super sturdy filing cabinet.
This review is for the 3 large drawer wood file cabinet. It took a long time before I ran across this one. All the others were metal. Very happy with it. All the pieces fit together perfectly, well engineered and super sturdy. But it took a very long time to put together, over 4 hours, not complaining though. I’m 71 with arthritis, and fumble around a bit. There are over 50 very small screws that I would have a difficult time using a drill with. Also 32 – 1 and 7/8ths inch screws with an allen head. Screw driver and allen wrench provided. The wood finish is very nice, the drawers work very smoothly and again super sturdy. I just love it. The only problem I ran across was the rear of the drawers. The pilot holes were not deep enough for the 1- and 7/8ths inch screws to put on the back panel. The last half inch of tightening was very difficult and started to crack and bulge out the side of the drawer. This does not affect the performance of the drawer though.

More trouble than worth – part bug, part feature?
Took a chance despite red-flag reviews and alas, I’m adding a red-flag review of my own.This 3-drawer file cabinet had the right dimensions to fit in a very specific place (it’s a little shallower and not quite as wide as other units). We also liked the white, clean look. Although the price was attractive, that was not a primary consideration.The package with all the unassembled parts was a daunting sight — no surprise — but my husband, a pro at putting things together, got to work and during the 3 hours of labor (unpacking, inventorying, arranging, assembling) got it done. These were his two deal-breakers with this unit:1) Some of the screws are too small to be suitable for particleboard assembly – e.g., the screws for attaching the drawer locks are short and thin and readily strip out their pre-drilled holes (they’re intended for solid wood, not particleboard, but you can’t substitute thicker screws due to the hole sizes in the locks’ attachment plates) – leave these screws loose… the locks may wobble a bit but they shouldn’t fall out;2) If you tighten the metal rods into their receptacles (inside the drawer fronts) they’ll put pressure on the white veneer and flake it off the front of the drawer — leave these rods loose. (He applied transparent tape over the two white flakes (size of corn flakes) to keep them in place and moved that drawer to the bottom, where it’s less visible.)Not until the end did we find issues like #1 and #2 above (final steps of assembly). When we explained and asked the seller for a replacement door front panel, this was their counter-offer: We can disassemble the unit, ship it back and they’ll send us a new file cabinet to assemble. Perhaps they realize (hope?) that the extra 4+/- hours of work and inconvenience is an effective deterrent to their having to make this right in a fair and acceptable way. Our biggest lesson learned? We should have heeded this product’s / seller’s red-flag reviews.

Very sturdy
Like this a lot, very sturdy and looks really classy! Wasnât too difficult to put together but definitely harder than I expected. Took me several hours. Very heavy!! My poor husband had to carry it up stairs and it was not easy.

Sturdy, perfect size!
I was reluctant to buy the three drawer file cabinet because of reviews of how itâs difficult to put together. If possible possible, I would recommend two people put it together, but definitely manageable for one person to put together. It took my husband and I about an hour and a half to put it together, we received all the parts and all of the screws. Just take your time and be patient, and pay attention to the instructions and once you put it together, youâll be so happy that you ordered this file cabinet!

Pretty and feels sturdy but issues with parts
I was excited for this filing cabinet but was super disappointed with missing parts and screws that didnât work or were too short for the task. I couldnât even get the locks in without stripping the wood. It does feel super sturdy and I like the look but itâs a bust because of the sucky assembly.

Solid, substantial, well manufactured, attractive – some work required.
This was 4 or 5 hours of work to put together, but after awhile I enjoyed doing something different and building something with my own hands that I can look at in my office with some satisfaction. The parts to be put together are meticulously crafted and matched, and the materials are first class. The graphic only instructions are thorough and effective. A look on the internet and in Office Max, etc. shows equivalent quality wooden cabinets in the +- $300 range. I like to purchase quality and this was that.Only caution: an hour was spent putting the locks on the drawers because I didn’t do it in the recommended sequence, didn’t see the very specific instruction about the outer collar, and the provided screws, though usable, could have been an eight of an inch longer for easier assembly.

took about 4 hours to put this together. If i had known, it was an assembly needed I would have gone to IKEA as its the same kind f set up. Allen keys to small to be helpful and cause lots of cursing. Don’t buy it unless you want to spend your day assembling and cursing as the wrench slips out of your hand. Why don’t they make stuff with normal screw heads so you can assemble with a drill or normal size tools. Just a joke

Super frustrating to build. Screws just turn and donât hold. I have a hole in my unit. The instructions donât tell you that you have to use an Allen key so I stripped my screws. The instructions donât tell you to move the poles if you want letter or legal sizing until AFTER so I had to take the thing apart. Just these few things would make a huge difference

I purchased this item in November 2022. I am a senior with a disability and due to some unforeseen issues, I was not able to put it together until this week. I was very happy with the cabinet, however, once the drawer was assembled, it did not fit. I took the drawer apart to make certain I had put it together properly but the bottom line is, it simply does not fit into the cabinet opening.I’m frustrated and disappointed and have spent an enormous amount of time on it. Unfortunately,the return window has recently passed as of Jan 31/23, however, I want to hear back from you as this product is useless to me as is.Update:After my review, Songmics Direct reached out advising that they very much wanted to make things right.I had my doubts and ended up disassembling almost all of it, however, Songmcs Direct stayed with me and I did have a piece turned the wrong way. I’ve added a 6th photo showing the finished cabinet.The service provided by this company, most notably Alice, was excellent. After suggesting it would be helpful to have some wording along with the instructions, they are forwarding this on to the manufacturer.I have now changed my rating to 5 stars and I sincerely thank them for sticking with me. They did indeed make things right!

The drawers are not deep so having 4 drawers helps. But a deeper 2 drawer cabinet would take up less space. Also, the top 2 drawers hit the top of the unit when closing.
