The BEST crystal identification book on the market!
As a long-time follower of Dr. Athena Perrakis, I had been anticipating the release of this book for a while.. but when it arrived, it absolutely exceeded my expectations! I own several different crystal identification/metaphysical property description books, and ‘Crystalpedia’ is the best one I’ve ever seen by a long shot. The photos of each crystal are more detailed and accurate than any I’ve ever read, making it easier to identify gems and minerals than ever. On top of that, it’s easy to navigate and more descriptive of each crystal than any similar book, and also contains origin stories and fun facts that have made me WANT to learn and study more about gems and minerals. I’ve learned so much new information about my favorite gemstones that I never even knew already. I would recommend this book for everyone, from those who are brand new to gems and minerals, to those who have been working with them for decades. ALL YOU NEED IN ONE BOOK!!
You will have no use for any other crystal book once you have this one. It has the truest / best photos, descriptions and uses Iâve ever seen. It contains the physical aspects (hardness and structure), places of origin, chakra correspondence and a TON of metaphysical information. The bookâs author has dedicated her life to identifying and using crystals, has travelled across the world and has been an expert / teacher for many years. I love that this book provides stellar photos of many variations of stones. For example, it provides photos of the Jade family (jadeite, nephrite) – most books only show photos of one variation and the quality of the photos donât show the true colors. This book shows the true colors, variations, striations, intricacies, details, etc. I also love that this book is beginner and advanced-friendly. So – whether youâre just starting out or already have an abundance of knowledge, this book will be your best friend. You get the science and the metaphysical. In addition to all of this – I love that there is SO MUCH information! It explains which part(s) of the country crystals come from; in the appendix you will learn which stones work well for different scenarios and why (sleep, manifestation, passion. At the beginning of the book you will learn about sourcing and caring for crystals, how to clean them, cleanse them, charge and program them. You will learn about the sacred geometry of crystals as well. And the crystals are all in alphabetical order. BONUS with this book: you can use it as an Oracle!!! Ask a question, flip it to a page and you can read the âmagical message for youâ portion of the description. FINALLY a book that has it ALL. No more having to reference several different books for the crystal info you may need. This one has it all. This brilliant author hit it out of the park. THANK YOU!!!!

I absolutely love this book so far!! Iâve looked at every single page but havenât read the whole thing yet. Itâs huge with over 350 pages! Itâs beautiful!! And the author is very knowledgeable about crystals and their healing properties amongst many other things!! Athena is one of the kindest, most loving, and wisest souls on the planet. She is a powerful healer and alchemist and the wisdom she shares with us is life changing. When I heard she was writing another book I knew I had to show my love and support so I preordered my copy in March. Iâve anticipated its arrival all year and it does not disappoint. Iâm so proud of Athena and how far sheâs come on her journey this lifetime. She is an amazing teacher, mother, mentor, friend, and then some! I recommend this book to anyone who is interested in crystals and their metaphysical properties; both newbies and seasoned practitioners. Thereâs a lot of good information within these pages. I have followed this author for many years and have to say that this is an incredible example of her knowledge. This book is very, very well done. The photos are exceptional, showing both raw and polished examples. Love the layout of each page that gives you historic, geographic, and metaphysical information. I also appreciate the recommendation to use this book as an intuitive divination tool.If you are a stone or crystal collector, lover, or enthusiast, this book is absolutely for you. This is truly the best book available to expand your knowledge both for the beginner or the seasoned practitioner and collector. Highly, highly, highly recommend.

Although comprehensive it is by far not the most comprehensive and so cannot be used as a primary resource. Even Sapphire is not included in this book which is surprising to say it is so popular and is the author’s favorite stone.For such a thick reference book I was surprised to find that there is no Index – just a Contents. This is not enough when you want to find all the pages in which a particular crystal is mentioned. This means you have to flick through the 368 pages to search for what you want and may not even find it if it doesn’t have its’ own section. Taking Sapphire again as an example, it is not listed but is briefly mentioned in other Crystal’s descriptions. You would therefore not know unless you read the whole book to find the mentions.As one of her students I do not agree with the author’s strategy of pleading with her students to leave reviews – especially those who have proudly shared photos of their Crystalpedia books and expressed their excitement in her Facebook group This is not fair in my opinion and should not be necessary. There are enough students to boost the ratings to 5 star very quickly without a true representation of the general population on Amazon or other book sellers.Despite the above points, the book is aesthetically pleasing and has some beautiful images. The author has made the book applicable to both the beginner and the more advanced practitioner.
