My full coated Shih Tzu and I are presently stuck in Florida. He has a full coat because he’s a blue Shih Tzu. This means he’s missing some pigmentation genes. This causes him to sunburn very easily so the long coat is necessary to keep his skin covered. Problem one with being stuck in Florida.Problem number two with being stuck in Florida is the constant rain and high humidity which leads to mold and fungus. Where we are, the grass has a tendency to be too long (another story). This means he drags his belly everywhere he goes because he’s short. In doing so, he collects everything that’s hiding in the grass.We’re from New England and when we lived there, he never had any problems. Here, it hasn’t been anything except problems from the very beginning.He was being treated for yeast. It wasn’t working and worse than that, the last time I bathed him with 4% chlorhexidine shampoo, the little man who never complains about anything, cried. It just about broke my heart.So, I started looking for something that would help us. I found these wipes and bought a container. Yes, they’re small and pretty pricy but they work so I could care less. He’s my guy.I started out cleaning his affected area four times a day. He was broken out all the way from his chin to his penis and on his legs. He had a spot on top of his head and his ears both inside and out, were crusty. I used these wipes four times a day for over a month and things began to improve and clear up. His head and ears are completely healed. He no longer has broken skin on his chest and legs but it still itches. It’s been about two months and I’m down to once or twice a day depending on how many times a day he goes out.I also bought the spray. I use it on the areas where his hair is long and thick, spray it on heavily, work it in with my fingers.His skin is better. His hair is beginning to grow back. I can tell he feels better. I’m going to continue to use these wipes until we can finally get out of Florida. For us,this product has worked very well. I can’t say I’m crazy about the scent. It smells heavily medicinal, but that’s a very small point since it works well.Just want to add a 21/2 month update. His skin has healed and the hair has begun to grow back. We went from using these pads and the spray 4 times a day to now using them about every 2 days. If I see him scratch, I check and if there’s any redness, I treat his belly. He loves it. Anything involving having his belly scratched is ok with him. I’m very happy with this product.

These wipes are tiny, and they aren’t wet enough.

My vet recommended these to me a few years ago and I ran out. So handy to find them on Amazon and for such a reasonable price. The wipes stay moistened and do exactly what they say.
