Best Humvee vest yet
This is my third Humvee vest and the 7th vest I have purchased for photography. 5 of the 7 have been lightweight, less expensive nylon/polyester. The two that have not fallen apart are this Humvee and my first Rothco “Uncle Milty,” made of cotton and similar sturdy fibers. The natural fibers need treatment for water resistance and are heavier. The design with deep pockets is ideal for photo gear, and the zippers and velcro are larger and sturdier than most. The pockets are just right for lenses, batteries, cell phone, etc.My only complaint is about the epaulets, which are now just a fashion statement. On the lightweight Humvee, the epaulet lifted to hold a camera strap in place on your shoulder. This one is sewn on the full length and unsnaps to allow only a cord or very thin strap. Too bad. Still, I’m happy overall.

Best Value for the Buck
This was a slightly used item that was in perfect condition and nicely re-packaged when it arrived. Even in hot summer weather, it’s light enough not to cause me to sweat terribly. But it’s sturdy enough that I can tell it will stand up to wind and cooler temps, as well (I lived for years in Cheyenne, WY and have a couple dusters, so I understand the feel of a coat that protects against wind and chill). I was able to put all my lenses in one pocket or another, though some were pretty tight fits. Once fully loaded, it’s pretty heavy, but I knew that going in (duh – lenses aren’t light) and the weight is nicely balanced if you put the lenses and other paraphernalia in pockets evenly across the vest.

Lots of pockets, well constructed
I have worn out three of these. Oh wait, I got the first one sometime in the 80s, Banana Republic. Second I used for photo and wore pretty much every day, the Humvee version lasted better, all the same features, pockets, zippers and some added clips. Finally after patching and fixing, I got the new one. Just as good as the past.Durable enough for the light weight and well sewn. Plain and simple as a photo vest, this is my favorite.

Wrong size sent!
I ordered this at the last minute for a trip. It looked about the right size and I always wash things before I wear them. In a haste, I threw it in the washer, since I was leaving in a few hours. When I took it out of the dryer to pack it, I realized I was sent a small. I ordered a large. Very unhappy as the product is unusable.

Already using this.
Currently I am on a cruise and I have used this while on excursions. There are known pickpockets in the area. I have felt safe when wearing this vest as I can keep things safely in front pockets.

Capacious and strong
I like its deep pockets for lenses and the many storage pockets. It feels sturdy and reliable, zips work well.

I was familiar with this product from prior purchase
There were no instructions in case I needed to return product. I was guessing it was a size large as no choice was offered.

Designed for Big and Tall men, not women
I’m 5’8″, and heavier than I’d like to be. Even so, the size charts elsewhere indicate that the Large size ought to fit my torso, perhaps with something thicker than a tee underneath. It’s HUGE . . . in some places. It barely fits my hips, and that’s important because it falls to mid-thigh on me. Above the hips, it’s big enough to fit someone much, much larger: the top of the zipper hits below my bust, the arm holes are open nearly to my waist, and the V of the neckline is so large that the thing wants to fall off my shoulders.I love the features. It has everything I want in a photographer’s vest. I’ve worn lots of “men’s” tops, from rainjackets to tees to banded collar shirts, but I can’t wear this. It’s probably great on men, especially on big-chested men with big shoulders and long torsos.

Pockets for my 24mm-70mm, my 100mm macro, my 85mm and my 24mm, camera body with 1 hanging from the epaulets, pockets for batteries, memory cards, cell phone, you name it. Going to be my left hand ( I hold my camera in my right)!

Like this jacket it does crease badly after washing but apart from that all good
