Our Alaska Smokehouse Natural Smoked Salmon is characterized by a light pink color, fine texture and mild flavor. After being delivered to our smokehouse in Alaska within days of being caught, only the best salmon are selected for smoking. Once they are selected, the salmon are hand-filleted and soaked in a traditional Native American brine to then be hot smoked over alder wood fires. It goes through the smoke process to carry the brine throughout the entire salmon, making it one of the best tasting smoked salmon products on the market today. Finally, each fillet is inspected before it is sealed in a gold foil pouch, known as a retort, locking in the salmon’s freshness and rich flavor. These keep well and aren’t too messy as such things go, sealed well in their bags. I need to use scissors to get the bags open. There is a little juice in the bag so it’s important to keep it tipped up so it doesn’t spill.Inside is a delicious and deboned small filet of smoked salmon. I like to eat it straight, mix it into eggs, or mix it with avocado or boiled potatoes. My spouse doesn’t like fish much so having small portions of ready-to-eat fish around for me is nice. I can eat it when we’re not eating together.This would be fine in a picnic basket or gift basket, with crackers or bread to spread it on, but it’s too messy to take along on a hike, I think.

The worst roasted salmon I’ve ever had
I bought the two ounce size and it was very small. I wish I had weighed it before I used it. Also, it was incredibly dry. I have purchased roasted smoked salmon many times and never had anything quite like this. I definitely will not be buying it again and recommend against it

Wasn’t the best, wasn’t the worst.Wasn’t the most generous portion, wasn’t the smallest. Ok, maybe it was the smallest.For a gift, the presentation is good.The salmon meat was a bit dry, despite its packaging.

We went on an Alaskan Cruise and after coming back, our family missed the great taste of smoked salmon filet. These filets are slow cooked and stored in a foil vacuum sealed package. Great taste and excellent quality. I will continue to order this and other salmon from the great Pacific Northwest. This works great as a stand alone snack or with crackers, cheese and wine.Highly recommend.

False Advertising!
My package received says 56 grams in the package. I weighed on the kitchen ounce digital scale and it came to 43 grams. That’s a big difference. My package says 15 gm protein, the advertising photos say 12 grams. Everything is wrong about what I received, and it’s bad advertising to send something quite different. (I’d attach a pic but I don’t see here where to do that.) Then for the taste – very bland. It is not a jerky, it is more like a canned fish in a metal sealed bag….which can be handy for backpacking to avoid carrying cans but I won’t buy this again. I’d say buy something else.

GOOD SALMON
Simply good salmon, I use the 2 ounce package to add to my spicy noodles with one slice of cheese and I crunch up some seaweed into the bowl with the rest of the mixture, and I tell you, it is delicious and it satisfies me all day, you’ve got to try it. I’m about to order some more now. I really would like a subscription but I’m not there yet. I hope you enjoy.
