Effective, feels like a quality tool in your hand
I really like this comb so far. This comb is built like a fine tool. It reminds me of a quality hunting knife that has a hollow ground blade. The stainless steel comb has that type of ground blade construction to it. I am not saying it is sharp, It is not sharp at all. It just has a nice, hollow ground profile and the teeth seem to be machined or milled out of a nice piece of stainless steel. I do not think this is die struck or cast. I am a watchmaker by trade, and it also reminds me of a music box comb in its construction. Nice to see this level of quality in a fairly cheap tool. I have two golden’s and the first dog victim was very patient with me during my learning curve of one (1) minute and throughout the 30 minute “fur” raking session. If you could see the pile of hair this tool removed you would most likely laugh as I did. It just makes me think how much hair they leave on the wood floors each day that we are endlessly vacuuming up. I am hoping a more consistent schedule with this comb will help solve this problem. I also purchased an undercoat rake (20 blade for large dogs) which is also effective but they are way different and complimenting tools. I only have a few hours of use with the tool but so far, so good. I am not sure why the blade is removable as the tool is cheap enough to just get another if anything would break. That detail must make sense to the manufacturer. The connection between the comb and handle is a solid and definitive “click” when it engages. The way you hold it during use in no way conflicts with the release button so that should be fine. The handle has a nice grippy feeling.Overall a good tool for the task. Not sure if there are cheaper versions but my dogs are like my kids and I do not waste money on either in buying grooming tools or kids toys. I feel this tool has long term value and worth the money it sold for. A+ so far. If things change I will amend my review.

I have multiple dogs, but one who’s a very heavy shedder, so bought this specifically to keep that under control.This tool is easy to use and is ergonomically designed, so my hand doesn’t get tired even after quite extensive time used. It effectively removes loose hair from the coat, including undercoat and top coat. My dog isn’t terribly fond of being brushed or this process, but it could be from rough handling by her previous owner. She’s a rescue dog, so we don’t know her history. She tolerates it, but it’s clearly not pleasurable. It’s essential, however as she has long hair that is not low-maintenance and is much better with frequent use than waiting for it to become a problem.

A happy Doughboy makes a happy house
We have a male siamese mix, we’ve had him for three years. He has a habit of incessantly chewing his “arms and legs” to the point of baldness and irritation. After many trial and error experiments with different proteins, sprays, and ointments, I thought it might be related to his seasonal shed. So I got this to see if it would ease his symptoms.First of all, this guy LOVES to be brushed. Maybe a bit too much because my inexperience with this brush left him with a few bald spots on his back. He leans into the brush strokes in a worm-like undulation of ecstasy and the spots that met the brush became bald.But that’s OK because the chewing has subsided significantly. Plus, he’s not leaving a trail of white everywhere he goes! And when you pet him, your hand comes away clean, not indistinguishable from a small animal as before.I’ve had kitties my entire life, always short hairs. My dad was pretty old skool about cat care and there’s a lot of things he didn’t teach me about because “It’s a cat! He will figure it out on his own and be fine.” Brushing and grooming is one of those things. Some cats have been bred to have specific traits that make it our responsibility to care for, like super fine downy undercoats as exhibited by our son, the Doughboy.Hes happy. I’m happy.

Does not remove loose fur
This tool thins the fur. If you comb or brush a cat or dog, the shed fur comes off wrapped around the teeth or bristles. If a hair is no longer attached to the cat, the whole hair comes off on te brush or comb.Thatâs not at all what happens here: The hairs are cut by the sharp edges between the teeth, and the cut ends of the hairs fall away. The loose fur is still there, but some of it is shorter.Iâm not a pet groomer so Iâll assume thereâs a legitimate use for that. It seems like a good tool for that purpose.But I donât want to thin my catâs hair. I want to pull out the loose shed hair so he gets fewer hairballs. We found a cheaper brush at Walmart that does what we want. A flea comb is even better, but it gets on his nerves.

I have a dog with an under layer of fur and this removes any loose fur without hurting my dog or its fur, reduces the amount of shedding in house by buckets full. Highly recommend and I consider this tool an absolute must for any medium or long haired animal. Well made and works wonders.

Short Hair Dog Brush Miracle
My parents have a lab hound who shed like it is his job. When my parents travel he stays at our house and for the first few hours he is with us I feel like everything we own is covered in tiny blonde hair. It’s insane. I tried a lot of different brushes including silicone brushes, slicker brushes and the brush you wear as a glove. Nothing worked.My parents are not the brush type people, so he only gets brushed when he comes to our house, so I knew I needed something that would take care of the problem quickly and efficiently even when it was not happening daily (our Aussies are brushed daily or their coats turn into a snarled mess).This brush was my answer. I take that blonde furry mess outside and spend 20 minutes brushing the holy heck out of him and what is left is a dog who is about 80% less sheddy. It does not cure the problem, but jeesh does not help it a lot.I would recommend this brush for every short hair dog owner on earth because it is really the only solution I have found that actually works.
