Versatile and easy to use
For years I struggled to use a stepladder to get my clothes off the upper racks of my walk in closet or I had to rely on others to get them down for me. A few month ago I saw a dressing stick at a store and I knew I had to get one for me. Such a simple tool, but it makes getting the hangers up or down with little effort. I can also use the stick to get some of the smaller (fabric) bins, which have a handle in the front, off the upper shelves, but it’s a little more difficult to get them back up with the stick. However, it gets easier with practice. If you have really tall racks/shelves, this stick might be too short, but for rooms with 8 or 9 ft. ceilings, this stick is just the right size.I have also used the stick for other tasks, like putting the pull cord from blinds on a hook that is out of my reach (some of my blinds stay down all the time, so I tie the pull cord together and hang the cord on a hook out of the way (and out of reach of pets and kids).

It is what it is.
For the price it is what it is, you should get at least a year out of it. It’s a steel alloy that holds up better then the wood. if you keep it dry it should last longer.

More uses than one
I purchased this to use in the store to get the items that are out of my reach and it isn’t too big to carry in the store. I also use it to reach my filter vent to open and close since the panel is high up over my oven since I have an extra high ceiling.

wood isnât varnished
Iâve been using dressing sticks for a decade. they are an amazing, simple, essential gadget for folks with handicaps. I wish i could tell the fella who made it how much i appreciate his ingenuity. Over the years, iâve had to replace mine. Iâve learned that some use dowels that are too thin; some use hooks that are the wrong shape. Rhis one is fine on both points, but the dowel is rough hewn. The manufacturer didnât bother to finely sand it and varnish it. Not a big problem, but the more I use it the more I realize it could lead to splinters. so i switched it out with my old stick [unscrewing the hooks], and now Iâm happy. And iâll repurpose the rough stick for a tomato stake.
