Unique style, pretty, clean long burn time, Citronella candle
I am BEYOND happy with this candle set.1st of all, the packaging was excellent. See the pictures. Well wrapped and protected gave me a sense of comfort that the product was probably also made with care. Instructions for use was great.2nd, it is sooooo pretty! It also smells amazing It! You can actually detect the scent of honey when you unwrap it and it burns. It isn’t a lot. Just a hint every so often which was an unexpected nice surprise. It also has a candle in it already so you just unwrap and use straight out of the box.3rd It is lightweight so would use caution if small children are around table tops.4th We have burned it 2x and it works like a charm. I ordered 2 so I could keep one and 2nd is gift for my daughter and son in law. Also purchased the refills. PROBLEM is I ordered the wrong refills (regular candle not Citronella which we both need in Miami given that mosquitos here are large enough to carry a small dog!) The candle set is correct 80 Hour Citronella candle yet i ordered the wrong refills. I am NOT returning the replacements i bought incorrectly. Yes, it’s that beautifulConclusion……you HAVE to order this elegant piece. It will look beautiful as an outdoor tabletop centerpiece or wherever you place it outdoors, is functional, burns clean without soot in the air or on the glass or messy dripping wax, works as stated, and will absolutely ð¯ be a conversation starter.Just be careful when clicking the refill to scroll to Citronella refill. I just realized that upon opening the refills.Side noteI did need to use additional mosquito Repellent so it’s not as much as a barrier as other products yet I would absolutely recommend it. It’s that pretty and unique.

Unique and Actually Works
This candle is such a unique and clever idea! I love how it feeds through the clamp and self-extinguishes when it burns downâitâs both functional and fun to watch. The beeswax is nice and gives off a neutral, unscented vibe, which I appreciate. That said, getting the candle to feed properly at the start was tricky, and I was worried I might break it. Itâs a bit on the pricey side for what it is, but Iâm still happy with the purchase overall. Itâs definitely a conversation piece!

Maybe aged wax makes a difference
I had long wanted this candle with the stand, wick holder and glass cylinder, but couldn’t think of how I’d justify it. Finally I went ahead because I’d have kicked myself if I did figure out a use and it was no longer available That was back in October, 2023. The box sat there, unopened box for almost 13 months.Then, in mid-November, 2024, a friend suggested that quiet time in the morning could help calm the rest of my day. Nothing fancy, just a specific place, a good book, and possibly a candle to help me focus. I now had a use for the candle! Also, I didn’t want a jangly alarm, nor to be distracted by constantly having to check the clock.I unboxed and set it up that day and the next morning extended almost 2 inches of wax, based on other reviewer’s experience with the wax burning much faster than the stated 25 minutes per inch. I didn’t time it that day, but the candle seemed to burn for almost an hour. Over the next couple days I have “calibrated” my candle to half an inch burning for just over 16 minutes, which is about the length of time I want. The wax is easy to measure; it’s the amount contained in the extinguishing clip.The only thing I can figure is that aged candle wax burns longer than fresh. Given that this one burns so well, I think I’ll buy a replacement coil now so it can age too.

Know what you are buying, and it is excellent!!!
I have read so many complaints about these candles. Will it last an actual 80 hours of accumulated time, maybe, who knows, but I can tell you that because you are only using 5 to 30 minutes at a time, it will take months to go through. This is a courtship candle, a timed candle, like a sand timer. It is not designed to burn for hours, it is is designed to burn for x number of minutes depending on how much candle you extend, to a point. My wife and I use candles and lanterns, and this candle has its own unique look and properties, just a very cool candle. We have had zero issues unclamping the candle, but we also do not extend it again right away after it has gone out. Looks great, works great as a timed candle, well packaged, will buy the refill, eventually.

Neat concept, terribly strong fragrance
This candle is neat to look at and fun to use. But I’m very disappointed that the smell is so incredibly strong (even when it’s not lit). It smells like it has artificial fragrance added. I’m hoping that it will tone down in a few days. If not, I’m not sure I can continue using it as strong fragrances give me headaches. 🙁

My first time to burn I pulled up 1.5″ (measured) to check on the burn time. Three inches is supposed to burn in one hour, so 1.5″ would burn 30 minutes.I’m a beekeeper and I do make candles and sell them but I can’t make these specialized candles. I love this antique idea of having a courtship candle. Back in the day, the parents would set the candle length for the burn time. Then the suitor would visit and then when the candle self-snuffs, it’s his time for him to leave. These courtship candles self snuff whereas the wrought iron ones burn by the hour but don’t snuff.Being beeswax, depending on where you live, if the wax is cold it can break when you pull on it but it’ll heat up incredibly quickly just from the heat of your fingers. So if you wrap your fingers around the wax for just a few seconds before you pull it up that will prevent breakage.It burned with a nice flame with no drafts which will speed up burn time. I didn’t order the glass cylinder, mostly because I know beeswax burns better with lots of access to oxygen. The unit is about 10″ tall. The copper is lovely and the whole thing looks well made.The candle burned for 35 minutes and then self-snuffed. So it was 5 minutes more than the estimate. Love this old fashioned candle.
