Works beautifully, far better than any plastic clip on trimmer combs!
This Andis Ultraedge size 3 3/4 carbon-edged blade Leaves hair 1/2″. Yes, I use it on my husband, and it is awesome. I have no idea why anyone would worry about using it on people if they will use it on their pets, but it is great. Makes cutting his hair so much faster. The blade does a lovely cut, no split ends, and it does an excellent job of keeping the hair length even. He likes a kind of “undercut” but not one that is so close the head, so this half-inch distance is perfect. Because it is so easy to use, I can do a five minute touch up any time he wants, instead of cutting it shorter than he wants so it lasts longer, because it takes so long to do it all with scissors.Easy to control, does require working in different directions (moving up the side, moving across) in order to catch all the hairs, and that takes just a bit of practice, but it is easier than I expected. The blade is shaped to be comfortable even used against the skull (rather than the soft parts of a dog).I’ve tried various plastic clip on trimmer combs, and they are pretty much useless. This works entirely differently than those.Worth it for making it easier to give my husband a trim. Time saved also makes it worth every penny.

Not so sharp
I’m a new groomer starting out, only 3 years in. I was excited to get all of my own gear, unfortunately the blades were not very sharp. The other products I received were great tho. I had been waiting for my order so I could start grooming out of my own business. I was a bit disappointed with the blades but the scissors were fantastic. I will be ordering more of both in the future. I’m hoping it was a once in a blue moon occurrence with the blades. All and all I was satisfied with my order. Thank you Amazon

Donât buy it
This blade is awful and Iâm hoping that mine is just defective. If you donât want to pull your dogâs hair, stay away from this blade. I want Andis to provide a refund or replacement immediately. The blade pulled on my dogâs hair without cutting anything. The blade was brand new, lubricated, and clean. I brushed and combed the dog before grooming and our Andis 10 blades worked just fine. This one was awful and just tortured my poor dog. For godâs sake, just use plastic combs and a reliable ten blade to save your dog the misery.

Wish I’d bought it years ago!
I groom my Standard Poodle and I thought I could make do with the plastic snap-on combs instead of buying this blade. Why did I wait? I just used it today for the first time and it’s worth buying!I tend to wait longer than I should between grooming because it’s either an all-day event to bathe and groom my Poodle, or I pay a hundred bucks to have someone else do it. So by the time I get around to grooming, his hair is pretty long. I used to put a snap-on comb onto my clipper and take off as much hair as I could before the bath (why wash and dry all that hair I’m just going to cut off anyway, right?) But the plastic combs get caught up in the curly Poodle hair, or they fall off and I take a bigger chunk of hair than I had intended, or the comb gets all clogged up with hair and I have to take it off and clean it several times.Today I took off a wastebasket full of hair with this blade before the bath , then bathed and blow-dried the dog, then clipped his coat again with this blade to even it up and finish the groom. It worked great!I thought I’d have the problem of the blade not cutting the dog’s hair, as other reviewers have mentioned, but once I made sure the blade was flat against the dogs skin, it cut just fine. It’s also much easier to clip a dog when the coat has been blow-dried – I bought a “blaster” dog dryer (the Double K Challenge Air 2 speed) many years ago and it was definitely a good investment – it gets the curly Poodle hair nice and straight so I can clip and scissor his coat and make him look as nice as a professional groomer!I mentioned that I clip the dog before I bathe him – I have been told this is not good for the blades because the dirt in the coat will dull the blade, but I still do it anyway, first of all because I groom about 6 times a year, so the blades aren’t doing a lot of cutting, and I haven’t noticed they dull any faster than the blades I don’t use on a dirty coat, and also because I don’t mind sending my blades out to be sharpened.
