I really do love these Newman’s Own salad dressings!
Not too long ago, wandering the aisle in the local grocery store, I decided to give one of the Newman’s Own salad dressings a try. Actually, I picked out two – the Lime dressing (which so far I haven’t been able to find on Amazon), and the Caesar dressing (see link below). After trying those two (and loving them), I’ve tried a few others. I like them all (my own selection is given below).To begin with, as they say on the label, all of the ingredients are natural. None of these salad dressings contain artificial flavors, or artificial colors, or artificial preservatives. So the ingredients are all the right things, and nothing else.Secondly, as also stated on the label, ‘all profits go to charity’. Good deal and so in a small way when I purchase these salad dressings, I know that the money I’m spending is not just going into another massive corporate bank account.The labels also have a certain amount of whimsey to them, and it’s clear that the corporate culture at Newman’s Own is one that is a bit more fun loving than what you normally expect to find in the grocery store.But most importantly, these salad dressings just TASTE GREAT! I really like each of the flavors I’ve tried.Here is what I have in the pantry right now (and there are others I’m planning to try eventually):- Newman’s Own, Olive Oil & Vinegar – contains an olive oil blend of regular and extra virgin olive oil, vegetable oil, water, red wine vinegar, onion, spices, salt, garlic, lemon juice and distilled vinegar. Shake well! Delicious!- Newman’s Own, Family Recipie Italian – contains vegetable oil, water, distilled vinegar, romano cheese, extra virgin olive oil, salt, sugar, garlic, spices, anchovies, various other minor ingredients. Does contain milk, anchovies, soy. Shake well! Delicious!- Newman’s Own, Balsamic Vinagrette – ingredients can be seen on the Amazon page so I won’t repeat them here. Shake well! Delicious!- Newman’s Own, Caesar – ingredients can be seen on the Amazon page so I won’t repeat them here. Shake well! Delicious!- (not presently listed on Amazon) Newman’s Own, Lime – my favorite, contains water, vegetable oil, sugar, lime juice concentrate, honey, distilled vinegar, salt, and small amounts of spices, onion and other flavors. Tart and delicious! Shake well!Of the thousands of varieties and sellers offering salad dressings these days, this is just a great brand. I’m a customer for life, I think.(I will also add that the prices here on Amazon are not necessarily competitive with what these can be purchased for in the local grocery store, where in my neighborhood any of these 16 oz bottles can be purchased for $3.12 each or 19.5 cents per ounce, but I haven’t reflected that in my rating. I’m giving these all 5-star ratings for the product itself, without considering the pricing here on Amazon).
