Superb New Edition of a Lost Classic
Rune-Song was originally published in the 1990s and has been long out of print–until now. This little volume is a classic Thorsson handbook that packs a wealth of practical material between its covers: clear guides to pronunciation of various Old Germanic languages, all of the major runes poems in their original languages and with English translations, examples of genuine magical runic inscriptions from antiquity with translations, as well as a guide to more esoteric runic vocal practices that were undoubtedly a part of the ancient oral tradition (elements of which are evident in various older inscriptions) . Each section of the book also features a concise and informative introduction and commentary. The new edition has been revised throughout and improves upon its predecessor in many details; it also features a number of photographic illustrations and figures that were not in the earlier version. The original book came with a cassette tape of the author reciting the various readings from the book (it was the early 1990s after all), and a subsequent edition came with a CD. For this new edition all of those accompanying recordings have been remastered and made available as a free download on the publisher’s website (search for Arcana Europa Media to find them). No serious runic practitioner should be without this book!

Essential guide to singing the Runes
This is an absolute go-to book for me. It is very beneficial to have all the rune poems recorded in one place, and especially to also have the English translations in audible format. I have spent so many hours listening to these recordings, that I always hear the author’s voice when I imagine the poems in English. This has been an essential way to help myself memorize the Rune Poems in English and in their native languages. The singing and chanting techniques are also extremely powerful.
