Great product
Despite the small size of the pouch, the blanket is quite large and is great for kitchen fires. It comes with a hook so you can hang the pouch where it’s accessible for easy and quick access in an emergency. It also comes with nice grippy gloves as a bonus. Very happy with this purchase and it is a GREAT value for a high-quality product.

These are more kid-friendly than fire extinguishers
We’ve had fire blankets on our radar for a couple of years now, but didn’t buy because the ones we saw before were expensive, didn’t tell us the size of the blankets, and were on one of those long-form sales pages that we know tend to inflate the price of things.I was really excited to give this one a try, and I’m impressed with it. The fact that it comes with gloves and a hook for easily hanging it up impressed me. I did notice that the blanket says not to re-use it. I think as long as the blanket wasn’t damaged, you could wipe off the suit and use it again, but that’s just my opinion. But because of that description, I decided not to try it out on an actual fire since I really do want to have it handy for emergency use.Fire blankets are so much better than fire extinguishers in many scenarios. There’s a lot of chemicals in fire extinguishers that can ruin your oven or grill, or at least be a nightmare to clean. Sure, it’s better to put the fire out, but you can do that with a fire blanket too.Fire extinguishers have a learning curve that can be hard for an older kid to remember, especially when they’re under pressure. The less a person has to think about during the emergency, the better.I’m happy to have this fire blanket in our kitchen. We are thinking about getting these for extended family for Christmas. You save a bit if you buy their 2-pack. They just seem like a really smart thing to have handy. One hopes not to ever need one, but luck favors the prepared.

Pretty nice
I wanted to get these for my dad and brother for Christmas. They are nice and come with a hook for hanging and gloves for handling. I didn’t realize before ordering that they are made from a glass material, so I’m assuming they would cut you if you touched the blankets without the blankets which may not be great for an emergency situation. But, they look nice and seem like they’ll be effective. They aren’t too big and are easy to store or hang. These are single-use blankets, unlike some of the more expensive ones that can be reused. So, that’s also something to consider. Overall, I like the look of these and think they are a great thing to have.

Very heavy weight fiberglass blanket
Protect Life Fire Blankets Emergency for Home & Outdoors, 40″ x 40″ Emergency Fire Blanket for Kitchen, Cooking & Clothing Fire Suppression Blanket, Fire Safety Blanket, Quick & Easy to Use, (2 Pack)I have been thinking of getting one of these for awhile! I run a large industrial laser and occasionally something I am cutting in there will start burning (usually cardboard which I use to test designs). Water is not good for a laser cutter and a fire extinguisher would make a huge mess. These seem perfect. It is 40″ x 40″ and is heavy weight. The fabric is smooth so I have no reason to doubt that it is actually fiberglass as stated. Will it work? Time will tell. The metal hooks are nice and have 3M adhesive on the back. The gloves? Not sure of their purpose. They are mostly cotton, so flammable.I had watched a video pop up ad online for this same brand, and that video said they could be reused. This packaging back definitely states one time use. That means that until I need to use it, I will not know if it will work. And I am hoping that does not happen, at least not for a long time. I do have a fire extinguisher close, so…I do think they are a good thing to have. And currently the price is great.

Absolutely one of three critical emergency items you must have for fires.
You have smoke detectors, right? Itâs the law in most places. A fire extinguisher? I hope so. A fire blanket is absolutely the third item you should have ready in the event of a fire. These fire blankets are great for smothering fires youâd rather not have spread due to a haphazard intervention, like dumping water on a grease or oil fire. Thatâs probably the first thing some people might think about doing when the pan and stove are on fire, but splashing water will just spread the flaming oil everywhere and really set the house on fire. Extinguishers, depending on the type, might also make things worse. On the other hand, a fire blanket will smother the fire without spreading it, so it wonât get any more oxygen. You really never know where a fire might start, so I appreciate that this is a value 2-pack. I keep one in the garage (near the gas can) and one in the kitchen, which are the two most probably places a fire might start in our house. The gloves are handy for the cleanup, so youâre not burned by hot objects you might want to quickly toss outside. The hook is great too, since you really want this hanging where you can grab them quickly. Donât put this in a drawer under a ton of junk. This is an excellent set of items that completes the fire emergency kit for our house.
