Reclaiming Our Heritage Healing Our Ancestral Grief

“The Runes Revealed will challenge you to remove the tainted, distorted lens of patriarchal interpretation and start seeing the runes with clearer vision. Long before Odin, the Vikings or Christianity, the runes were.”

– Ingrid Kincaid, Author

“My work with the runes began with my hand in a leather pouch held by Ingrid. I drew Raidho, rune of the journey, and so began a sacred task of reweaving ancient wisdom.”

– Lara Vesta, Illustrator

    Runic Wisdom for the Woke
I can’t shake the feeling this book gives me. What if the runes were ancient? I mean, we all know they’re old and associated with the god Odin sacrificing himself for the runes on the tree of knowledge… But what if they’re even MORE ancient than the patriarchal stories lead us to believe? What Ingrid Kincaid has done so beautifully and with such great need is open the mystery, the possibility that we were wrong. That, although man claimed to be the discoverer, they are actually the story of the Great Mother, not letters left in stone, but songs of the universe before the universe. That these figures are the sound of the vibration of the web of Wyrd, and somehow, I am now convinced that Ingrid can teach us to hear that song again. If you’re drawn to the runes, called by them but are turned off by those dry, academic, almost racist and definitely patriarchal sounding tomes… Then this is for you. We need more visionaries who can hear the songs of creation. Maybe that’s you.

    Beyond excellent
Ingrid Kincaid is amazing. Her perspectives and insights are beyond what I’ve seen in any other book about runes. Definitely worthy of your time. You’re welcome.

Beautifully and emotionally written, some themes to be cautious about
This book is a beautiful and emotional approach to the runes in a way that views them with their own self and a non-human personhood. There is some slightly troubling views related to themes of ancestry, bloodlines, and other cultures that I feel may need to be read with a grain of salt. With ancient European faiths, it is easy for a white supremacy view to show up, or the ideas that these gods/runes/beliefs inherently belong *more* to people of European descent. I don’t think the author intentionally created this dialogue within her book, but once again, read these themes with a grain of salt.I found myself pondering the runes in my day to day activities while I was reading this book, and felt them more present in my mind and in my life. It gives you a more personal and intimate connection, as opposed to memorizing facts and correspondences. Ultimately, I highly recommend this book for anyone who wants a more personal relationships to the runes.

    Don’t bother
Useless for divination. It’s an idiosyncratic and personal stream of consciousness on the author’s personal thoughts on the runes.

    need closer look
My fault for not reading the explanation. This seems to be a very basic book. I had studied runes a bit before and wanted a more in depth information. But then after re-examining more of the book, I could see that if looked at from a differentview, there was a lot more in it than upon first glance. I plan to slowly read it piece fy piece and hope to see even more upon this closer look.

    Exploring the runes
It is easy to stop at Ralph Blum’s books on Runes and think you have the whole story. But there is so much more about Runes and their history, and potential uses in the modern world. This is a journey in to that potential, it isn’t the safe, sane process you might prefer but it is enlightening and rewarding.

MY GO-TO RUNE RESOURCE FOR DAILY RITUALS
This book is my absolute favourite resource for the runes. I’m so many ways, it feels like a guide book for the runes- similar to what you would get with an oracle deck. The difference is, the author has really shared her unique relationship and perspective of the runes with the world. Each rune has a poem- and that are poignant, potent and revealing. You can feel the runes as you read the poems. The way that Ingrid Kincaid sees and understands the runes sticks with me- I feel like I am meeting her friends and it is so personal that I remember them by name and story. I recommend this book to everyone who wants to meet the runes more intimately.
