I like most of tools in the box. Use most of them to make sourdough bread. Jar for starter too small. Love proofing basket. Like the bread wisk best. Makes combining ingredients easy if doing bread by hand.

Nice set with just about everything you need
This Sourdough starter kit with 10 inch Oval Banneton bread proofing basket is just about everything you need to make a nice loaf of sourdough bread. They even include the lame handle and blades you need to score the top of your loaf before you bake it. Depending on the size of your starter.I noticed another reviewer made a comment about the letting on the box being backwards. The backward letting is on the top of the box. I think I even see that wonky letting on the photo in the listing.

For beginning baker, this has it all.
I’ve been baking sourdough bread for few years and I’ve used rag tag collection of individually purchased utensils. They all work, but this package has it all. The starter container has a nice date/time marker to keep progress of your starter which is important to keep track of.The lame with extra blades are nice as is the size of the proofing basket. I would also recommend you find a nice thicker walled plastic bag from the grocery store to place the proofing basket inside and seal it with a clip to lock the moisture in during proofing.I usually make portions for two breads so wish they included two baskets, but that’s knit picking. The bread scrape and the mixer are also a very nice touch and a necessary part. I’m rambling, but mentally going through the process of baking.As someone who’s baked about every week for the past few years, I would recommend this set for yourself or a budding future baker interested in getting into baking sourdough. If you can make sourdough bread, you can pretty much make any other bread!

Fun Kit, but a Problem as a Gift
This is a fun little starter set for someone who is interested in getting into making sourdough bread. It comes with quite a few included items. I thought this would make a fun housewarming gift, but as you can see from the picture of the front of the box, “BREAD” is spelled “BRFAD” which makes it look like a reject item. The printing on the top of the box (not shown here) is also misprinted–it looks like it’s backwards like a mirror image.

I love all the tools included in the kitchen, they’re all very easy to identify and use. I think it’s a great starter tool kit, and it’s super cute too.I would definitely recommend a beginner get this set especially for the price, it’s a good deal. My one and ONLY complaint is that you have to go online to learn how to make your starter. I would assume that a starter kit would come with the instructions on how to make your starter. That being said, after we found out starter recipe we had so much fun getting Doris started.I will post update pictures with our first loaf!
