Great carrier for large cats, fits on Alaska Airlines planes
We recently relocated from New England to the Pacific Northwest and we needed a new cat carrier to bring our kitty with us on the flight. She had outgrown her old one. She is a large cat, a mainecoon, about 13 lbs. After looking at dozens of cat carriers, we decided to try this one, and we definitely made the right choice. We flew Alaska Airlines and the carrier did fit under the seat (although not much legroom left – luckily my partner and I flew together so together we made the leg room work). The expandable sides are great – you can expand one side or both. Our cat loved it and spent most of the flight curled into one of the sides. It was easy to carry and did not sag much, if at all. Definitely a great choice for a large cat or other small-ish animal (puppy, rabbit maybe). If your cat is small, you probably don’t need a carrier this big (at least for a flight – you can save yourself some leg room). But for large cats, this is great.

Excellent product for long car trips
Carrier was perfect for my long-distance, 4-day, 1800+ miles, automobile trip with my elderly 10lb cat who also has chronic kidney disease. She was able to travel relaxed (not medicated) and she slept much of the trip. The extra room in the expandable carrier allowed her to stretch out and not be cramped as she would be in a similar size box carrier. Even at rest stops she would eat and do her business and then get back in the carrier while I ate or took a walk. As a pet parent it made me feel better that she wasn’t stressed during our long travel days. I would definitely recommend this type carrier to others and have shared it with my vet. The only downside I see is that it takes up more room than a typical carrier does and needs to be sitting on a flat surface as the sides are not solid. I drive an SUV, with the seats down flat I had plenty of space for all our stuff and it wasn’t cramped to fit the carrier in on the flat folded down seat surface fairly low for safety. Worked well for my situation.

If You Love Your Dog, Please Do Not Buy
I bought this carrier in spite of some of the bad reviews because I figured, my dog is only 5-6 pounds, surely this bag will not break–WRONG! On only my 2nd day of use, I took a 10 min walk to the dog groomers with my precious toy yorkie inside of it. She loves being carried in these types of bags, as opposed to walking, as it makes her feel secured. On my way back home, the loop, which holds the strap totally ripped, without a warning, making the carrier fall flat on the ground, with my yorkie inside. She fell so hard, that it not only scared her, but also me, & made me feel so bad, that I petted & massaged her all the way back home to make her feel at ease. I immediately asked myself why didn’t I listen to the reviewers? So now, I no longer carry my dog in this, but rather, keep it on the floor for her to use, in case she just wants to sleep in it, which is rarely, if ever.People, please, please, please (in my James Brown voice), do not buy!

Great carrier, really roomy!
Bought this carrier for my car when we need to take her to the V-E-T. Sheâs a 9 year old cat and on the bigger side and this carrier was a great fit! Even without opening the sides, it was roomy enough for her to turn around and get comfortable. The carrier itself feels durable & very sturdy once you zip up the short ends (thatâs where the support is). Maybe itâs a cat thing but she loved being in it… she stayed in there for at least 3 hours once we opened it!There *are* a lot of zippers but I found them really handy. They all have a purpose! And the mesh makes it easy for me to see how my cat is doing and for her to get some air.(1st pic may look like itâs floppy but that was before I zipped up the short sides)

1) Fit him comfortably 2) Zipper extensions worked great especially when we were …
15# Chihuahua-Rat Terrier, about 18″long. 14yo. First time for airline travel. Put a few treats in it and opened it up at night for him to sleep in. No problems getting him on day of travel.PROS:1) Fit him comfortably2) Zipper extensions worked great especially when we were at the airport for 9 hours3) Numerous ways to access (top and all 4 sides – even in the extensions) to provide reassurance and support4) Fit on top of my onboard 4-wheel bag5) Travel bungee definitely needed!. This along with holding the short strap made if very sturdy. (you can see the strap over the bag handle in addition to the bungee. Used the strap on the opposite side of the bag and reached over to the handle)6) With some maneuvering fit it under the Delta A320 window seatCONS:1) Over the shoulder strap pulled right out when he was in it (picture). Fortunately, I’m short and he didn’t have far to fall and it was on carpet. He was a little shell shocked but physically okay.2) Lots of zippers – some were a little stiff but didn’t break3) The only area for treats had no zipper and it doesn’t extend at the bottom so things kept falling out.4) When you use the two short hand holding straps, the middle caves in4) The newer plane we returned from DTW-PHX it did not fit under the seat. Had to use a blanket I carry to quickly put over my legs and cover the fact it didn’t fit. Fortunately, I was the only one in the row.Overall, I gave it a 3 for the times that it did work because it worked well. Having to return this one and repurchase due to the broken strap. It was a few days over but EliteField “approved” a refund. Now, just the hassle of boxing and UPS to return it. I will purchase it again for all the PROS but purchase a Sherpa Delta (which isn’t as comfy for my old puppy) in case the strap breaks and it should fit under the newer plane seats . I would not purchase this product for a dog of my size without 1) the Travel bungee; 2) a 4 wheel roll bag to carry it on; and 3) a spare.
