Moist and fresh, but strong rum flavor
So Iâm West Indian, Iâm used to strong ârun cakesâ after reading sone of the reviews I was hesitant to buy a larger loaf because I wasnât sure myself or my family would like it. This was a test cake,it is pricey. Cake quality: moist and fresh . Thereâs not much alcohol in it but it does have a strong alcohol flavor possibly given the small size of the cake , Iâm wondering if the pound loaf will have such a strong alcohol flavor too . Itâs delicious, but it does have a very strong rum flavor, bear that in mind if you arenât a fan of strong rum cakes . I love it, Iâm anxious to try the other selections before gifting them though , my mom makes her own rum cakes every Christmas, this reminds me of her cakes. Conclusion: Moist and fresh cake ⦠delicious if you like cakes with a strong alcohol flavor, this is it!

Son-in-law birthday gift
They are smaller than you think. For example – our son-in-law took one to work to have for breakfast. They are the size of a large cinnamon bun in a plastic clamshell. The taste however is stellar, it always is, the variety was also good. He was pleased with his gift and that’s all that matters.

Something has changed
I have been eating these cakes for 20 years now (as a treat- not constantlyâ¦lol) and have probably purchased 50 of them. I have added them to auto delivery from Amazon every 2 months for the last 2 years as well. This most recent cake (7/29/24) was definitely different.. it was less dense and moist, the way they have been for decades and this one was fluffier, drier and the box was subtly different. Either they changed the recipe or the baker but this one was a DUD! I am hoping the next one is back to normal or Iâm canceling my subscription.

The best rum cake in the world thatâs all Iâm going to say I would try and say itâs horrible to put you off buying it to make sure that I can get it all the time but I bet not very very nice. The chocolate is even better and so MOIsT itâs unbelievable.. best served with lots of CLotted cream
