The button in the middle doesnât work
While this is a nice, sturdy cellphone holder, my iPhone is in an otter box type case and has a recessed hole in the back of it. This does not allow the back of my phone to touch the button to make the clamps go in to hold my phone. I would imagine it would work fine if you had a completely flat back on your phone. But because of this it will not work for because I want to use my otterbox case for protection.

Trying to decide on a reliable smartphone mount for a motorcycle they all look so complicated as if they were designed by a Hollywood art designer for use in the next Star Wars movie. This one is no different. Then I took a closer look.
First up it is your basic high-impact plastic with silicon and metal in all the right places. There is a button in the middle of the cradle. When the phone is inserted and presses against the button the four grips with some thick silicone pads close around the phone to secure it. Thus the description per the 1 second deal. Pushing two sidebars releases it and a flip switch on the back locks the bars so in case of a tumble they will not release.
Next it has an anti-vibration shock absorber system (sold me) which totally separates the mount from the cradle. Add those thick silicone pads holding the phone this might be useful with cycle engines that like to vibrate a lot at idle while trying to use the phone.
It comes with 5 spacers/shims which will cover anything from your kid’s electric scooter (you bought the kid a phone?) to a Harley Davidson and is easy to install in minutes. The ball mount is also a standard and the cradle will mate with other mounts such as Magellan or Garmin GPS, Motorola, Icom, Kenwood, Yasue transceiver remote control heads and whatever else you use a ball head for.
Here is my picture with an iPhone 14 Pro Max (huge as big as the 15) on a 2014 Kawasaki Ninja 650. No it is not hitting the tank with full left and looks very clean. Per phone size and use others might mount it elsewhere.
Overall an excellent holder that will take care of a smartphone well as can be on a motorcycle. Now I wonder many years ago would Darth Vader or the Rebel Alliance be using it? You decide.
