This is a great mop! Makes me hate mopping less.
Will a mop make you love cleaning? Probably not… but this one definitely helps! Years ago, I had an original spinning mop bought off the TV and it sucked. The round head would spin as you tried to mop and it was just frustrating as it didn’t clean anything. So I was skeptical about trying another “spin-mop” but I took a chance. This O’Cedar mop is nothing like those old ones. This one actually works! The bucket system removes a lot of the water so you’re not soaking your floor. The mop head actually cleans- floors, baseboards, walls, whatever and it’s easy to use. I’m not going to call it fun because cleaning is never really fun in my opinion, but this makes me hate mopping much less. I even ordered an extension handle since I’m taller and some extra mop heads so I’ll always have a clean one ready to go. The mop heads wash up great in the washing machine and I just hang to dry.

I’ve used both this mop set and the other O Cedar one with the blue insert for clean and dirty water. Don’t be fooled by the gimmickry, THIS one wins!! It’s straightforward and easy to use, holds a lot of water, and spins like a charm. The other one was super annoying, it didn’t hold enough water, the spinning bucket was small and did not spin well – just sort of wobbled around. It only let out a small amount of water for rinsing and needed to be refilled several times. Also, there is no way to get inside the insert to clean it in the event of mold or buildup. That’s a no from me! Simple is best! I love this bucket and mop set and would definitely recommend!
P. S. Some reviews say the handle on this mop is short. I was concerned this would be an issue for me as I am 5’8” and hate bending over. While I would love if it extended about a foot longer, it really hasn’t been an issue. Mopping is easy and quick. I also love the removable mop head for washing. Simply snap it off and on. No need for a bunch of replacement heads when you can wash this one in hot water and bleach and it’s basically good as new!

Overall a good product, but requires upgrades.
I just took this new mop and bucket out for it’s first spin because I guess I’m at that age where I get far too excited about a mop and bucket system. Here are my initial thoughts:
– First and foremost, at first I thought that the mop handle is WAY too short. But I had only telescoped one section. There is another telescoping section at the very bottom. I read the instructions to see if I was missing something with a telescoping section. Clearly I was, but that wasn’t super clear.
– Secondly, even when I twisted to “lock” the telescoping section, the handle felt quite flimsy and collapsed frequently. There are replacement handles that are metal and screw together with 4 sections and are available for $10 on Amazon with great reviews. So unless you need the quick portability, the replacement might be a better option. Mine should be here today.
– Most frustratingly. When mopping, the microfiber tassels (I guess that’s what you call them) get pushed under the mop head to where the front edge of the mop base would scrape the floor when pushing forward or pulling back. Maybe I’m a “Speed Mopper” and should mop slower. Or I should develop better tassel management skills. Or both. It’s not a deal breaker though and something that I will hopefully be able to get past because I seem to be in the minority (but not alone) with this issue.
– I do love how light the mop is without feeling terribly cheap (save for the handle as mentioned above).
– and I absolutely LOVE the spinning function. Works great, not wobbly, and bucket stays put. It feels very well constructed on first use while not being overly cumbersome.
Overall, I do like really like this mop. The spinning function adds a little joy to what is normally a very bleh task to get done. I’ll be keeping it for sure, using it frequently, and hopefully developing better tassel management skills. Who knows, maybe “speed mopping” can become curling’s sister sport in the olympics.
I’ll also add that while there are many really wonderful reviews specific to the microfiber tassels. I can’t say that the microfiber aspect was in any way a game changer for me “mop performance” wise. At least at this point where I have only mopped one room with this mop. The tassels just feel to be simply another means to use liquid and a scrubbing medium to clean a surface. In other words – I don’t see a whole lot that is “special” about them other than straight out of the bag they were notably soft and fluffy. I reserve the ability to change my opinion later.
And as a note for improvement. It would be nice if there was some way to protect the plastic mop head from scraping the floor when in “Sport/Speed Mopping Mode”. Honestly, getting scrapes on the floor isn’t really a concern that I have. It’s just obnoxious because to fix it, I have to lift up the mop and reposition the tassels. Which pretty much takes away the whole point of speed mopping. And the sound is pretty grating. I realize that it would likely make that part of the mop more of a consumable unless the answer was simply “Add more Tassels in strategic positions and of strategic lengths” to prevent the contact. I’m going to work on my mopping skills, but in the meantime, it really would be cool if a 3rd party wanted to create a better “sport mode” version, or if in the next iteration O-Cedar addresses this.

So easy to use and cleans amazingly. Love the retractable handle, perfect length for a short lady.

I cleaned all my walls and baseboards with this quite effortlessly really. I did add a bit of cleaning solution to the water but the mop head is perfectly shaped and the bucket spinner works easily.
