Makeup I’m Not Buying this Week

I’m back with my negative thoughts and rants about what makeup I’m not buying this week. Because you know we all love a grumpy Muse moment.

Spring 2025 Makeup releases are dropping around the clock and I’m seeing a few pastels in the mix for example, HUDA BEAUTY Ube Birthday Cake Easy Bake Blurring Loose Baking & Setting Powder. This lilac with subtle pink shade is the newest color in Huda’s popular setting power formula. Allow me to date myself to when I really liked lilac correctors for brightening up my face. For example, I can go all the way back to Signature Club A by Adrienne Lavender Under Makeup Base which is still sold to this day! I was all about using it till I realized it was making me look like a ghost. So yeah, I’m skipping this one. I will say I do see people with medium to deeper tones that are reviewing and using this and I just want to see them without the filters and extra lighting because I have a feeling it doesn’t look as great as they are saying in their videos. I think it’s best suited to a fairer skin tone but I couldn’t be completely wrong. Speaking from my own experience these shades just never work out for me.

They also, launched a new Blush Filter Soft Glow Liquid Blush in the shade Ube Cream and that one is a nope for me too. Just can’t pull that one off either without looking like rigor mortisset in.

I hate to say it but the Hourglass Phantom Volumizing Glossy Lip Balm are a no. I love me a glossy lipstick lipbalm hybrid but there are WAY too many inexpensive ones flooding the market right now like the new Milani Keep It Full Glossy Plumping Balm! Why pay $38 when I can snag a good one at the drugstore for less? Hourglass is a little too late to jump on this trend and near $40 for one will make people question if they really need to splurge.

Glossier, I love ya babe but also, I am not purchasing 2 oz of hand cream for $20! Glossier Hand Cream and it’s scented like Glossier You but do I really need a mere 2 oz of hand cream for $20? I think not. I’m good with my Bath and Body Works Hand Creams when they pop up on sale!
