Nintendo is helping US retailers prepare for the inevitable Switch 2 sellouts by sending them signage they can display when gamers have snapped up all available units.

Spotted by VGC, Reddit user Alternative_Basket19 shared a photograph of a sign from the retail store where they work. It’s a banner that shows the console alongside the Switch 2 logo with “Out of Stock” written across the top. Retailers are expected to display these on their storefronts so customers know they’re out of luck.

The Reddit user didn’t share the exact store they work in, but their post history suggests it’s a Best Buy. The Switch 2 preorder process has been difficult, so many have been hoping to get their hands on the console in person on June 5.

Rumors suggest stock will be limited, with YouTuber Jake Randall reporting GameStop will be getting between 40 and 60 consoles per store. Half the allocation is expected to be bundles with Mario Kart World included, while the other half will be standard versions of the console.

Best Buy, Costco, Staples, and Target have each confirmed they will have stock of the Switch 2 on June 5. Best Buy and Costco have suggested some of their stores will host midnight openings, while Target is expected to keep its stock for normal store hours. It’s also rumored to be selling more stock online from June 6.

Walmart has yet to comment on whether it will have units available in stores on launch day. If you don’t find one in a physical retailer on Thursday, you may need to wait for Nintendo to replenish stock at each retailer, which may take the company some time.
