Bedspread waterproof dog blanket
Brought this along with a bedspread dog bed. They are fantastic, Cozy, warm, wash really nice and are thick and durable. My 10 years great dane loves it.

Very nice, high quality, but very slippery!
We bought this to cover our futon loveseat, which my naughty little 10 lb. female Pekingese had been caught marking on (to claim as hers so the other 2 dogs would stay off). She’d also left impossible to remove drool stains! We have ALL of the fancy enzymatic odor and stain remover sprays, orange sprays, pet smell removers, febreze, etc, and none of them worked for the stains. Those products work great (if applied several times) to protect our human noses, but dogs can still smell it. And if one dog marks, then the others want to mark over it. ANYWAYS… since keeping my dog off of the couch, or in her crate long term seemed like a losing battle (and not very nice for her either), we decided to cover it. After all, in our living room, it is the only seating for us and/or guests, and replacing furniture is not cheap! So we decided on this grey, faux fur, plush, waterproof blanket to cover any traces of dog marks, and protect it from future accidental (or purposeful) peeing!It’s a very nice blanket, and it’s the perfect size for our 3 seat armless futon couch. The color is a good match for the grey that’s already the color of the “couch”. It IS waterproof, completely. Within a week of having it on the couch, our other dog, an excitable little 8 lb. female Pomsky, scaredy peed when a guest pet her. So, I tossed it in the wash with my enzyme booster, eco friendly bio laundry soap, in-wash enzyme liquid and washed it on cold with an extra rinse. When done, I tossed it in the dryer, and set it to low heat for 90 minutes. One cycle done, and it was still damp and heavy. I did 2 more 90 minute low cycles, and it was still wet in spots. Between each cycle I’d untwist the blanket to try to target those wetter areas. I also have 6 wool dryer balls in the dryer at all times. No fabric softener for plush or furry polyester! But the dryer’s lowest setting wasn’t working, and I was scared the next setting (medium-low) might melt the waterproof layer in between the plush layers. So I hung it over our baby gate in our kitchen doorway. Every day I’d fold it a different way. In all it took about 4 days to dry! Our house was 67° – 72° during that time (late summer, early fall in NE Minnesota). We had our AC running with ceiling and floor fans going non-stop to keep the humidity out of our old house, so air moisture was not an issue. I think because it’s such a heavy blanket with the sherpa fleece layer on one side, TPU waterproof layer inside, and the long plush faux fur on the other side, it’s just a lot of fabric to dry without wrecking the waterproof feature. The fabric outer sides are polyester, which normally dries fast, so it was a bit baffling why it took so much to dry. But that may speak to the quality too! I have 2 other similar blankets from another brand, and they dry quickly, but look like crap (matted and snagged sherpa on one side, tpu middle, plush velour/coral velvet on other side). They also don’t weigh as much as this blanket and are maybe half the size. This blanket is big enough to throw over the whole couch, back AND seat!All those minor annoyances aside, the back side of the furry side (the wrong side you don’t see) against the waterproof inside layer is SOOOO slippery! The sherpa grips the microsuede couch, which is great. But then someone sits on the couch, or a dog jumps up onto the couch, and the top layer slips all over the place. It looks messy, and I am constantly fixing it. I’ve seen my dog attempt to jump up on the couch, and the top layer just slides with her off the edge, resulting in a fall… and many more attempts to get up! There haven’t been any injuries, because the futon couch is pretty low, but it’s not fun I’m sure!I think this design could be improved upon by anchoring or heat sealing seams in a quilted pattern to keep all layers together at all times. Of course, if a quilted pattern was sewn in, it would puncture the waterproof layer, making it useless. So, I’m not sure what the solution would be. Less slippery backed faux fur? More matte or textured TPU waterproof layer? Fusible waterproof layer of some sort? Maybe the blanket would be better across a bed or on the floor, or anyplace where a dog doesn’t need a lot of momentum to jump onto it.TL;DR I want to love this blanket, and use it to cover our futon. I love how plush, shaggy and silky the faux fur is. I love that it’s waterproof! I love the heft of it. I don’t like how long it took to dry, and am scared to use higher than low heat. I don’t like how slippery it is, to the point that quick movements or “landings” by dogs cause the furry layer to slide off and away from the waterproof and sherpa layers, making it potentially dangerous depending on usage. And when it slips and slides, it looks messy. If you put it on a couch, be prepared to always be adjusting, straightening and tucking it back in the cracks.

Soft
This blanket is just like it says it is. So super soft and waterproof. My cats love and make biscuits on it when they get on the blanket. My new kitten claimed it as her own. There is no shredding from the fluff and it lays flat when placed that way, of course until the kitten swirls it up. I highly recommend it!

It’s soft it was a size I wanted, but just too noisy and it slides right off the couch too easily. Did not work like I thought it would
