Cheap, effective for minimal Security, but think twice
So what irritates me most is the preset combination ! Yeah, that is right, it doesn’t appear to be able to make your own combination for this lock. So if this is your only combination lock, probably fine, but I have other locks for equipment and having a new number is beyond reason.Otherwise they are fine, this is not for high security! they can easily be broken, but if you are just wanting to discourage a easy theft, then these will work fine. There are other locks that serve the same purpose and you can set the combination easily.For me this is a no buy! The lack of preset combination rules it out. Sadly, for me, I let them set around the house for three months before I took. look, otherwise I would have returned them.

I love it
Although I know there are more secure bike locks out there (which cost a ton) this lock performs well and has a couple of nice features. The lock is fully programmable, allowing your own combination. I have a code I use on pretty much everything and was able to program it into the lock. The instructions are clear enough but I point out that their reference to turning the knob 90 degrees is referring to the plastic knob just inside the open end. I programmed it on the first attempt. Also, the lock comes with a mount that can be placed anywhere on your bike where the frame size allows it. I do wish the mount was a strap type that would mount on the frame where the pipe is not round but oval. Other than that, I think it is great and will provide some security in quick stops at stores, etc. I would not trust any cable lock in long-term absences.
