Funny, warm, encouraging….with solid science
I wish this book had been available when I was selecting the collection for a new elementary school library some years ago. It would definitely have found a spot on the shelf! Free of stereotypes, accurate, warm and encouraging, gender neutral–it checks all the right boxes. Smiley-faced doctor tools and giggling organs (when the doctor palpates them) make this book fun and appealing as well as medically sound. The text encourages children to feel brave and proud for taking care of their body and, in closing, gives the child a future perspective by suggesting that “You might become a doctor some day.” I bought a copy to donate to our local public library’s children’s collection.

Very cute!
As a physician assistant, I had to add my little edit lol but I love this book for my nieces and nephews. Itâs a way to tell them about their yearly visits so maybe they wonât be scared to go

Awesome Childrens Series!
The Baby Medical School series of books to include this book, “My Doctor’s Visit,” as well as “Bacteria and Antibiotics,” and “Vaccines” are some of the best STEM books I’ve found for my young children (ages 3-5 years old). I’m a U.S. Army veteran and a premed biochemistry undergrad student and after reading about the authors I’m excited to see what other books they publish. Their books have just the right amount of terminology to introduce complex subjects to young kids without confusing them or losing their interest. The illustrations are great; they turn everything from doctors tools, to macrophages into cartoon characters while still retaining the form that identifies them as to what they are. Thank you to the Authors for this amazing series.

Good Book For Toddlers
I got this for my 2 year old to teach him about the human body. I thought it would be over his head, and Iâm sure some of it is, but he really loves this book. He loves the page that shows the organs and can point some of them out. Pretty cool, I think. So I recommend this book, and laughed (maybe too hard) at the tissue joke. So yes, I recommend this book.

Educational
This is a lovely book to explain to young children about going to the doctor for check-ups and what would happen during the visit. It explains about the heart, blood cells, and oxygen and why doctors listen with a stethoscope. Thereâs a page that explains they may get a vaccine and why, which as a parent I appreciate. I bought this book for my child along with a doctor kit for sociodramatic play and to help them be comfortable with visiting the doctor. Definitely recommend it!

Advanced
It’s a board book but has concepts that are advanced for board book ages. We will still read with babies and toddlers.

Great job explaining the âwhyâ behind the doctorâs visit in a way kids can understand
Loved this board book! The illustrations are very colorful to catch younger kidsâ attention, and they are also detailed (and accurate!) for the slightly older inquisitive minds that want to know how the body works. My 2 year old daughter loved looking and listening and kept saying âmoreâ and âagainâ after we were done reading. I think the book simplifies complex processes well and does a great job explaining the âwhyâ behind certain things that are done at a doctorâs visit in a way kids can understand. I especially like the joke near the end. Definitely highly recommend!
