Nothing is making some of the most unique smartphones right now, and the CMF Phone 2 Pro is the company’s latest release. The CMF Phone 2 Pro is cheap at $279 with some high specs considering the price.
However, those in the US are limited in how they can buy it. Many of Nothing’s recent releases have been restricted to a beta program and it’s the same here meaning no after-sales support, a complicated process to buy, and limited 5G support.
The band support of the CMF Phone 2 Pro means AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon users are all limited in support. In the company’s FAQs, Nothing says, “We can’t guarantee full functionality and compatibility with cell carriers.”
The company has also restricted the sale of its accessories for the phone. The CMF Phone 2 Pro is designed to be paired with new interchangeable lenses, a magnetic stand, and a lanyard, but none of these are available in the US.
The phone runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Pro 5G processor paired with 8GB of RAM. On the rear is a 50-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixeP telephoto and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide. There’s a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast-charging but no wireless charging. The phone features a 6.77-inch AMOLED screen with a Full HD resolution and 120Hz adaptive refresh rate.
Nothing has built a lot into this phone for its price with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Unlike most modern phones, you also get the option of microSD support up to 2TB to expand that space further.
While the CMF Phone 2 Pro is limited in release, it appears that Nothing will be set to change its release for it’s next device expected to be called the Phone 3.
Nothing CEO, Carl Pei, replied to a post on X that asked whether the Phone 3 would avoid the beta channel release. Pei replied “100%” with an American flag emoji.

Pei has previously confirmed the Nothing Phone 3 is set to launch in Q3 2025, so expect it from July onward. The Nothing Phone 2 arrived in July 2023.
With the ongoing tariffs from US President Donald Trump, it’s remarkable to see Pei make assurances that the phone will be released in the country given the next few months look unpredictable for many technology companies.
The Nothing Phone 2 was sold by the company directly, not through the beta program, but it wasn’t offered directly by any of the major US carriers.
