I thought 19 crystals for $7.50 was a good deal. The crystals are ordinary and not of great quality. In the picture, they look shiny, but in person, they are dull and full of imperfections. A few of the crystals are fake, like citrine, clear quartz, yellow aventurine, and watermelon quartz (which is actually man-made cherry crystal). I’m not sure if they work as healing crystals, but they might look nice as decorative stones.

Buying stones online is usually a gamble. These are ok, but nothing spectacular. The colors of most are not nearly as vibrant as those shown in their picture. In fact, I would not have been able to identify some of them without looking at the picture shown and using a process of elimination. For reference, the stones in my picture are arranged in the same order shown in the listing. For an idea of size, the circle they are on is 5.5 inches. Know that you probably wonât get stones as pictured. The quality isnât great but the price is also low.

These are about the same quality and size of the stones that you’d get from a “fill this bag” bin at a museum shop.In my photo, I arranged the stones I received in the same order as in the product photo. My photo is taken outside in full sun.In my set, it was a bit difficult to tell apart the rose quartz, plain quartz, and hematoid quartz, as they were all very white/clear. A geologist friend of mine and I had a good time playing with these. The opal is actually opalite glass, and the white turquoise is usually called howlite, though it is nicknamed “white buffalo turquoise”. Without exhaustive testing, my geologist buddy and I agree that on preliminary inspection, everything else seems to be natural, undyed, tumbling-quality stones that are authentic.This would be a nice set for a kid interested in geology. They’re a good assortment of geological history, fun under a magnifying glass, and no need to feel bad about destructive testing while you learn about hardness scales and other geological properties.
