These are NOT spill or leak proof. I got them for my grandchild, who’s almost 3. I would never give this thing to him unsupervised. We might use them at supper time only, where he isn’t able to leave the dining room table with it. It can leak really badly, while open or closed. If you press on the bottle, while the top is snapped closed, you can hear the air being forced out. Since they’re not airtight, these caps won’t keep soda fresh. Even though the cap isn’t airtight, it snaps closed very tightly. So, my grandson cannot open it by himself. He’ll need someone to open it for him. He’ll may need someone to snap it closed, too. The snap top on these may not be a good fit, for adults who have arthritis or other issues, that limit grip. These are marketed as being spill proof, which is not true. They’ll be fine for water or juice, when used by adults or responsible kids. The silicone straw does sit against the bottom of the 20oz soda bottle, that I tested it on. I suggest being careful with the silicone straw, since it can hold onto to any fur, fuzzies, and debris, that it comes into contact with. It’s just the nature of this silicone material, which is also used to make baby pacifiers, teethers, etc. These do come with a larger screw on adapter. I thought the adapter would fit the individual 16.9oz bottles of Gold Peak tea, that we drink. We usually buy them in bulk. The bottles are very sturdy. So, I thought they’d work for my grandkids. But, the adapter is too small to fit them. I have no idea what bottles the bigger adapter will fit. Aside from my grandkids, I really have no use for these. The fact that it’s not spill proof, defeats it’s purpose. I rated these at 2 stars, because it’s not spill proof, as the listing claims. I attached a video review and pics.
