Great option for camping or storage
I ordered this container to take potable water on a long weekend camping trip. It was exactly what I needed and worked perfectly. It does hold a true 5 gallons. Water weighs approximately 8 lbs per gallon so filling this container up brings it to around 40 lbs. It’s heavy and can be a bit awkward so don’t plan on carrying it long distances. The larger lid provides an air vent to help the water flow when using the spout. It’s also large enough to get an arm in there to clean it out. It is a bit difficult to get into every little corner and into the handle area when cleaning it but if you’re just putting water in it you shouldn’t have to worry very much about things growing in there.
The container came with a really nice detachable shoulder strap, though again, it’s heavy so it’s going to dig in a bit. It also came with a cleaning brush and the spigot cap. There’s is an extendable attachment you can stick on the end of the spigot which would come in handy if consistently filling narrow bottles. This attachment has a groove molded for it on the side of the container. It sticks in there but I wouldn’t trust it if bouncing around too much. I’d consider putting a piece of removable tape across it to keep it secure. I kept the container sitting on its side in order to use the spigot to pour water and it did not leak at all. Having a handle on top and on the side makes it easy to lift and maneuver. I have absolutely no complaints about this container and absolutely recommend it.

No leak portable water container suitable for camping
I took this out on a camping trip where there wasn’t potable water available. It worked perfectly for my needs, supplying clean water where it wasn’t available. Though a few gripes keep it from a perfect score.
It’s leakproof as advertised. Before use, I filled it up and mixed in dishsoap, shaking vigorously and holding it upside down. No water came out.
The two-handle design makes sense. The handle on the same side as the mouths would be the primary orientation for carrying it while the other handle is for making it stand on its side to use the spigot.
The spigot itself has no issues. Though kind of awkward for the container when standing on its side. I feel that side could be reinforced better. I opted instead to use an electric pump as a dispenser so the unit can stand on its base better.
I think the strap and brush didn’t quite hit the mark. For example, I felt the carrying strap wasn’t of any good for transporting the container. I followed what the pictures show as far as strap placements going where the handles are. But carrying it this way while it has water makes the weight shift feel unbalanced. Meanwhile, the brush was flimsy and easily bends while trying to clean the inside. I realized how much it wasn’t suitable for the job and had to forgo using it.
At about $40, the price seems fair for a 5 gallon. Overall, this is the better of the water containers I’ve used and has become my go-to for long trips and camping.

Good Water Jug…Seems Durable. Good for camping and water storage.
I ordered this is because, on occasion, I spend a weekend with my parents car-camping in a remote location with no potable/filterable water sourceâ¦at least within a 30 minute drive. So I must pack water for drinking, cooking, cleaning, etc. in the truck when we camp. Previously, I would bring water in the 2.5 gallon water jugs from the grocery store and/or filling up (washed/rinsed) 1 gal. milk jugs. This jug is more durable than the 2.5 gallon containers from the grocery store, and more portable than the milk jugs. And at this point I now have a few of these more durable containers.
– Based on filling a 1 gallon milk jug and pouring the water into this jug 5 times, so the stated capacity seems accurate.
– Itâs certainly thicker than a milk jug, and the 2.5 gallon containers from the grocery store, but still rather lightweight.
– For the smaller port, it comes with a spout, and also a cap. The cap would be good for long-term water storage, but the pour spout is just fine. I expect the cap to get lost over time.
– These are non-stackable. I wish that these had a stackable design.
– It comes with a little wash brushâ¦nice touch I suppose. Also, the larger port allows my man hands to (barely) reach into the jug for washing/scrubbingâ¦up to my lower forearm anyway.
– The rubber air/vacuum-release plug on the larger port cap seals well enoughâ¦and seems simpler and more durable than the twist or cap types.
– I like the beige color, but thereâs no real preference hereâ¦blue indicates waterâ¦and white/opaque would show the water level better (and allow UV light in for disinfection). Regardless, a little bit of bleach or vinegar disinfects, and the remaining water is easily discernable with the weight of the jug.
– No leaks on either port or the spout/spigot. Also, with rubber gaskets, be sure not to over-tighten to ensure longevity of the seals.
– The flex spout is a nice inclusion, as is the storage indent for it, though Iâm not sure Iâll ever use the flex spout.
– This jug also includes a carry strap
Bottom Line:
Durable water jug with spouts/caps for use and storageâ¦and a handful of accessories. Stack-ability would be better.

Great price, good value
I have two of these five gallon water carriers from the same manufacturer. Unlike other water jugs these had a lower smell of manufacturing and required less time to sterilize. I use them to transport water and hold water in my camp and my minimalist mini house. I noticed that the seal on the water spigot and the fill hole require initial adjusting to stop leaks. It would be better if the rubber seal was integrated in the caps.
