The Aircast Air-Stirrup Ankle Support Brace is commonly worn immediately after an ankle injury and throughout recovery. It’s intended to prevent or treat acute ankle injuries, chronic instability, post-operative use and ankle sprains grade I, II, and III. Featuring semi-rigid, anatomically designed shells which help stabilize and protect the ankle. These shells are lined with patented Duplex air cells that enhance circulation and reduce swelling and edema. The air cells are pre-inflated, and provide pulsating compression while walking. This ankle support brace has a low-profile structure, allowing for minimal bulk while wearing shoes. The Aircast Air-Stirrup Ankle Support Brace resists inversion more than taping, yet normal flexion is virtually unrestricted.

Customers say
Customers like the support, sturdiness, and functionality of the brace. They mention it’s great for immobilizing the ankles, has a hard outer shell, and works well barefoot or with flip-flops. Customers also like the quality. However, some customers disagree on the comfort, fit, value for money, and ease of putting on.

Really help with sprained ankles
These are the best supports ever for a sprained ankle, in my opinion. They give a lot of support and don’t allow your ankle to bend side to side. I have very weak ankles and get frequent sprains. I started wearing these to play pickleball and feel much safer and have been injury free. I travel a lot and never leave home without a pair of these in my suitcase. Many years ago, an orthopedic doctor gave me a pair, when I had a very painful sprain. I have been using them ever since. This was a replacement for one that finally was wearing out.

Excellent support for my healing broken ankle.
I wear this to go into ocean to give support to my healing broken ankle. Works well and it is as advertised!

Best purchase for my sprained ankle
The Aircast brace is lightweight, comfortable, and very supportive. I found the boot provided by my doctorâs office to be too heavy and painful – Iâm so glad I got this instead. Itâs fully adjustable so Iâm able to get the right amount of support for narrow feet and ankles without any discomfort. Itâs great to be able to start walking again after a sprained ankle without worrying about reinjury.

Good support for a sprain – with caveats
Good support for a sprain but not particularly comfortable to wear. They would do better in a sports shoe than in a dressy shoe. Unlike in the illustration, wearers are advised to wear absorbent socks under the brace. The air sacs are plastic so skin immediately against them can’t breathe. Amount of air in sac is adjustable (read directions, and don’t lose the inflation/deflation tube that’s included but not attached) but it may take experimentation (and time!) to find the right adjustment to fit comfortably. Shouldn’t be worn in airplanes due to air pressure change affecting the sac size, but it would be awkward to have to put on and off to hurry through an airport … and what to do with it if you aren’t wearing it onboard?! They’re designed and marked for left or right but seem to be interchangeable if you adjust the stirrup appropriately and adjust air pressure in the sacs accordingly.

Unable to return, measurements innacurate
I paid close to 100 for one for each ankle due to fractures. Does not fit even after following measurements. Waste of money because I cannot return or exchange. Iâm a double ankle fracture so I have to order from Amazon because I cannot drive

Great for swimming
I broke my fibula so I bought this brace to be able to swim while it was healing . It kept my ankle and leg stable and was waterproof . I’m not sure how it would be inside a shoe , maybe a little bulky

This was recommended to me by my physio following rolling my ankle causing a hairline fracture and a particularly bad sprain. As part of my job I go over fields and uneven terrain.I needed to get back to work before it was fully healed so I’ve used this for stabilisation. It still allows the forward and backward flexing of my foot, but prevents the sideways rolling I’m now prone to until my ankle is fully healed. It’s also adjustable to suit different widths of feet and the air pockets are also adjustable, allowing air to the increased or deceased.I’ve worn this with trainers for gym work and boots for work with no issues.

Das Band, dass unter den Fuà kommt, hielt nach 2 Tagen bereits nicht mehr und rutschte vom Klett. Support beim Verkäufer leider sehr träge und nicht hilfreich.
