Alaska Smokehouse Smoked wild salmon is a treasure. Thousands of years ago the Pacific Northwest native Americans depended on salmon which influenced their religion, art, politics and economy. After a successful fishing trip, they preserved their salmon catch by smoking it over Alderwood fires. Our Smoked salmon fillets are smoked in the same carefully and time-consuming native American tradition. Our salmon are caught in Alaska waters and delivered to our ketchikan Smokehouse within days. At the Smokehouse, they are hand-filleted and soaked in a traditional native American brine. The salmon is then smoked over Alderwood fires. Finally, each Fillet is inspected before it is sealed in a golden foil pouch for freshness and rich flavor. 100% natural. No preservatives. Made in China.

Winner as a gift!
My friend loved it and was able to get a few meals out of it. She gives it 5 stars! Also really liked the box it came in.

Good but could have been better.
I’d like to give this a 5 star across the board but something lacked in the flavor department a bit. Although I did love the box it came in. I would say that this Salmon would definitely need some added seasoning or something.

So delicious
I buy this delicious, yumminess as often as I can. We eat it in salads, stews, and on simple crackers with cream cheese. Try some. We’re glad we did and continue to do so. There is an option to buy a beautifully designed reusable box with a filet, which I gave my nephew as a Christmas gift and he loved it. Including the decorated box. I highly recommend this company and their products.

Disappointing
I was very excited to send this to my sister and brother-in-law for Christmas as a special “extra” gift for them. When I flew back to Ohio in November I did not have time to stop and pick up some smoked salmon to take with me at the airport, so I decided to just send some for the holiday. Rather than send a small pack, I sprung for a larger size so they could share it with their sons who would be there visiting as well.I also chose this product as I like the box it came in as it seemed like this would be a great keepsake. The box ended up being the only successful aspect of the gift. I had not heard anything back from my sister about the gift which was odd since she raved about the fancy cookies, the mixed nut arrangement, but nothing about the smoked salmon (and I know they love this as we discussed this on numerous occasions). You have no idea how disappointed I was when she told me last weekend that she did not want to hurt my feelings, but the smoked salmon was terrible. In fact, nobody liked it and after two days they threw it away. They were not going to tell me, but they wanted to make sure I did not ever buy it for them as a gift again. The 5-year old liked the box though. Spending almost $50 for a box for a 5-year old is not a satisfactory gift.I will be giving it a think on what I can purchase to send to them to take the bad taste out of their mouth. I am a finicky eater, but these folks are not – they hunt and fish which is why I was floored at their response. I guess lesson learned on my part. I just ended up with my foot in my mouth and an empty pocket.

I didn’t expect this to be so high quality.
My hubby is a salmon fisherman who spent 20 years in Alaska. He stuck up his nose when I offered it to him. He eventually gave in and tried it and ate it all in one sitting. We’re giving these out for Christmas in our yearly hampers.

Amazing Flavor
I had hoped that there would have more salmon in the crate, but the flavor was sooo amazing that I didn’t mind the amount at. I have a large family, so I was very worried about having enough for everyone.Never fear, you can make rice bowls and this salmon is perfect. You may not have a lot of salmon, but you have a ton of flavor to enjoy.
