Our smoked salmon is characterized by a light pink color, fine texture and mild flavor. After being delivered to our smokehouse in Alaska within days of being caught, only the best salmon are selected for smoking. Once they are selected, the salmon are hand-filleted and soaked in a traditional Native American brine to then be hot smoked over alder wood fires. It goes through the smoke process to carry the brine throughout the entire salmon, making it one of the best tasting smoked salmon products on the market today. Finally, each fillet is inspected before it is sealed in a gold foil pouch, known as a retort, locking in the salmon’s freshness and rich flavor. The retort is then packed in our award-winning gift box for further protection. On time and lovely box
I got this for my dad for Father’s day as he loves salmon but my mom does not so he rarely gets to eat it so this was a special treat just for him for Dad’s day. He loved it. He said the salmon was so tasty and a real 5 star treat for him. The box was lovely too and they will use it for other things. I appreciated the prompt delivery. I left it kind of late but it got there well within time for him to enjoy a plate of salmon on father’s day.

Excellent Salmon
I ordered this as a treat for my wife, and the salmon was delicious. In the past, we had eaten smoked salmon from another maker, but our local store stopped carrying it. We had been checking for it for a while before we thought to check amazon. This worked out very well, and now even comes directly to our door.The salmon is cooked/smoked, comes in a sealed foil pouch, and does have liquid/oil in the pouch. The taste is really wonderful. We eat it with crackers and capers.

I expected smoked salmon similar or better than what I can buy locally. It is NOT. Opened the package and a thick goo flowed out. It didn’t look or smell right. The salmon seemed COOKED, not smoked. The two packages were completely different in appearance. I don’t know if it was a different type of salmon–there was no indication of what type of salmon it is (it was not Coho or Sockeye. I suspect it was Atlantic salmon due to the grey color) or what was used in the processing. Not even dietary information (calories, etc) that is required on food sold in the US. All you’re really buying here is a wooden box keepsake, poorly made in China filled with chum.

Pretty Box but that is about it
I bought this as a gift to give a family member and has it shipped to her house. I saw her later and since it was a 2 pack I was given a box to take home and just try out. Out of the container the fish is one boneless fillet that is completely a skin on solid. There was no paste but there is quite some water in the packing. I am no expert in fish but I once read fresh fish smells like the water it came out of and not like fish. This fish smells like fish and is on the salty side for salmon. How the fish is smoked or cooked is something I do not know but I speculate they add a lot of salt in the process. If you have a salt restricted diet watch out. This is a good gift for someone who has everything because no one would think they are getting fish as a gift. The box is made in China and not in Alaska but it is high in build quality so it is a good keepsake. The fish is best served in small quantities as a supplement to some main food item for the meal instead of as the main item.

this fish is very good that is why I ordered it as a gift for my mother, but when she opened it there was only one package.. of fish not 2 as they advertised. that makes the cost twice what it should be .when I went to git a return label because I am a prim member, I was told that this is a non returnable Itom.
