This works perfectly with homemade bread making it easy to slice the loaf into equal wide slices of bread similar to store bought bread and is great for sandwiches. Update #2 Over a year later and we still love it. We have and will continue to use it every 2 weeks. Eventually we’ll cut it in half and buy another one.Update #1: After reading my review the vendor contacted me and offered me a full refund.I took the refund and used it to buy this item again, hoping the second one would work as intended.It does. The sides pivot up and lock in place very smoothly.It works really good for slicing bread. Tip: let the bread cool fully before you slice it.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~The first time I opened it one side literally exploded.The part with all the slots must be cut before the bamboo is cured which caused it to bow. Then they put it together with tiny staples under pressure to keep it straight.One of the two folding sides fits very tight and takes a lot of pressure to pivot. The first time I opened that side, it burst into 3 peices, with 2 of them flying out.Rather then return it, I just glued it back together with wood glue. (I have years of woodworking experience and the right tools)We only use it twice a month and now know to be very careful when folding and unfolding it. We started making our own bread when the “Bread shortage of 21” happened and after realizing how easy it is and how much better the bread tastes (not to mention how much healthier it is without all those added chemicals) we just kept making it ourselves.Once setup, it works great.Tip: Let the bread cool fully before slicing.

Elegant Piece
This is an absolutely stunning piece and I love the quality! I actually returned a few similar items before deciding on this one and I am very pleased with my purchase. I like that it has different sizes you can use on the guide posts for your perfect slice👌.It it very sturdy once locked into place. I saw a review that said the sides didn’t hold up in place. One of my sides was a bit snug and did not auto lock into place like the other side. Once I manually pushed it into the notch it locked in place. Not a big deal to me at all I still love it! I did put a demo in my video so I hope that helps with assembly I agree with some of the reviews that the magnets to hold the knife are not very stong but I knew about that by the reviews before I purchased so and its not a big deal to me but I did upload a video to kind of show the strength so you can make your own educated decision 😊. My opinion is that it’s fine but if you pick it up and move it like I do as a serving tray just be sure you have a hold of it to be safe 👍. I love the crumb catcher feature! I’ve had a similar bread slicer before without one and let me tell you that this one is a game changer on being mess free. I want to share a little tip to keep your bread slicer lasting a long time. I have added a thin piece of flexible plastic cutting board that I bought for cheap at Walmart and cut it to fit inside as a barrier to protect the wood from being damage by the knife. When I am done I just angle it slightly and let the crumbs fall down in the crumb catching tray then toss that plastic piece in the dishwasher. No mess no damage perfect 👌 ❤️.The crumb catching tray can also be used on its own as an elegant serving tray. I’ve even used mine as a charcuterie board and it’s just so darn pretty.This peice is so nice and can be displayed on your counter but it does come with a soft bag for easy storage. If I could, this would be a Ten Star review! This Bambusi Bread Slicing kit is a keepsake!!!!A very high quality, beautifully made necessity for a home bread baker. I could have used one for the past 50 years!! It is easily folded up for storage when not in use. It is so easy to slice you bread in different widths! Just so impressed with this .It really is a “Must item “ for your kitchen.Oh, a nice SS bread knife comes with it . I got it today and my bread is in the oven.I am not easily impressed !!!

Este producto no es muy resistente, al primer uso se despego de la base, cuenta con pequeños micro clavos que no soportan el uso cotidiano.

Molto pratico, mai più fette di pane storte. Sembra una scemenza, ma non saprei più farne a meno.
