Works nicely to keep a shoe on, but mine arrived used and missing a lace.
This item arrived used and missing the shoelace to tie up the top.I work in special education and bought it to use for a student who has a bad habit of kicking their shoe off. This prevents them from doing that and works as well as I could expect.I got my own lace to replace the one that was missing because I didn’t want to go through the return process.The unit is sturdy and has a bunch of straps for the ankle that keep it sturdy and prevent a person from kicking off their shoe with their opposite foot.I wish the bottom was made of a more durable material because it is already starting to wear. I understand that on a grass field this would probably not be the case and since I’m not exactly using the brace as intended I’m not letting the wear affect my rating.I just wish it had arrived new and with the lace. It arrived with a couple scrapes on the side of the ankle and no lace.If the bottom wears out we will probably sew something new on because it works that well. We were having to put the shoe on the student up to 20 times a day and now we don’t have to because this brace prevents that from happening.

I gave this item a three star, because the ankle brace itself is great! My issue comes with the item description and the item I actually received. I ordered a brace from Amazon, after the ankle brace my daughter used got worn out and started breaking (I bought this from a local sports store). The tag on the original brace said M, for medium. On Amazon, they are not listed by S,M,L ,etc…. they are listed by shoe size. So now it’s a guessing game as to which one to purchase. My daughter wears a size seven cleat, so I bought the brace designed for a size 7-7.5. Turns out that was an XS! It was too small to comfortably fit around my daughter’s ankle. I figured I would go up one size, because her original one was just a little too big. So I sent it back and went up a size. When the package came, I took the box out, opened it and to my surprise, the brace was coated in dirt! It was obviously used. Not only that, but one of the support straps was broken and just hanging off the side. Needless to say that one is back in the mail too. I don’t know what happened or why….but I am very disappointed. I now will have to drive to a sport store and hope they have the correct size for my daughter. I usually don’t write reviews, but the fact that the sizing online doesn’t match the size listed on the actual product is annoying, and to receive an obviously used and broken item in exchange is beyond frustrating.

Definitely worth the try.
My son plays football and has ankle and feet problems that we are currently going through different treatment methods with his orthopedic doctor. We have tried other ankle braces for him to use during football. But these seem to help the most. They are hard in the beginning to put on the cleat and strap up to wear. After a few times of taking them off and on you will figure them out and because easier. The brace will need cleats with shoelaces in order to install the brace on the cleat.

Best ankle protection but needs stronger velcro
I got one of these back when they first started gaining popularity. I will say that this is by far the best protection for your ankle. I had a damaged ankle when I started trying out for professional soccer teams and I was wearing one of these the entire time. I ended up getting picked up and was able to play in Sweden. This brace went above and beyond to protect my ankle so I could achieve my dream. My ankle did end up blowing out when I kicked the ball at the same time as another player that came from the side of me, but it was a ticking time bomb anyway and nothing in the world would have prevented that.The only reason I don’t give it a 5 star is because it seems like the velcro has changed. Back when I got my first one, the velcro stuck very strong and it would never come loose. I just purchased two new ones and the velcro straps are always coming undone.

My son found the Battle XFAST Ankle Support System to be really helpful. It was REALLY difficult to get on, but to be fair my son wears size 14W. There was some confusion when I placed the order. I did not realize that their would only be one support. It worked out fine. He just wore it on his dominant foot and he can change direction quickly and without injury.

I suffered a severe ankle sprain and have had to wear an ankle brace while playing ever since. I hate how they mess up my cleat fit and are just uncomfortable in general. THIS IS SO MUCH BETTER!! I still wear a soft compression brace but this external brace is sturdy without affecting my play. It’s a bit of a pain to get it laced into place but definitely worth it. Highly recommend!

Amazing brace. Works very well. The strap broke on the first one and amazon quickly replaced but otherwise, very impressed with how well it works. Might be some slight discomfort for a few uses but once you get used to it, all is good. Make sure you don’t over tighten.

My son is very particular with his cleats and this time he decided on a low cut pair. I usually insist on at least a mid for ankle support but as I said my son is very particular on his cleats and wouldn’t be swayed. Luckily I came across this Battle ankle support system and decided to give it a try. Battle was already a respected brand in the household and it was an easy sell. The system is designed to allow free and regular movement until it gets to the danger area and that is when the system engages. It will take a little getting used to but compared to the usual rigid, inside the cleat ankle supports there is no comparison. Full range of motion and it is highly adjustable, so you can in essence customize the fit, we highly recommend this product.
