A Winner
This razor cost about 3x what I paid for my Norelco… but it is worth every penny. Its very well-made and gives a great shave. With my Norelco, I’d have to clean it after 2 shaves and the shave itself was poor. If you were a watch repair person, cleaning the Norelco would be much less of a challenge. The Braun is very easy to clean and even has a cleaning system. My only complaint is the documentation/instructions; they must have been “written” by a mime. Lots of pictures, no words, lots of confusion. Just watch some youtube videos and you’ll be good.

Pretty impressive!
I’ve been using a series 5 for a decade and it still works well. But, on a whim, I bought a series 9. It’s incredibly close and really fast. The self cleaning is much improved too.I know close. I switched to occasionally using a feather safety razor with feather blades when I wanted a really close shave. For fun, I even learned to sharpen and use a real straight razor – but my skin won’t tolerate that more than once a week. I know why so many men wore beards before the safety razor was invented! If I use a straight razor more than the days in a row my cheeks are simply raw even with the best soaps and a badger brush. The series 9 is almost as good as the feather, faster by far and MUCH kinder to my skin. It’s so close that I can only barely feel stuble when I go to bed at night. It’s really amazing how good this things is. It’s well worth the $ if close and kind are important to you.

Braun Series 9 Pro+ Electric Shaver Review
As someone who has relied on the Braun Series 5 for the past three decades, making the leap to the Series 9 Pro+ was a decision fraught with hesitation. Could a new shaver truly outdo the faithful companion that had served me so well? After poring over countless reviews and videos, I finally took the plunge, and I can confidently say, it was the best decision I’ve made in a long time. From the moment I started using the Braun Series 9 Pro+, it was clear that this was a shave like no other. The closeness and smoothness achieved were unparalleled, leaving me with a newfound appreciation for what a top-tier electric shaver can deliver. Even after just a week of use, I find myself wondering why I ever hesitated in the first place. One of the most remarkable aspects of the Series 9 Pro+ is its ability to adapt to different contours of the face, ensuring every inch is shaved with precision and comfort. This, combined with its powerful cutting elements, results in a shave that feels effortless yet incredibly effective. As someone in their 60s, I’ve experienced my fair share of shavers over the years, but none have quite matched the performance and satisfaction offered by the Series 9 Pro+. It’s not just a shave; it’s an experienceâone that leaves me feeling refreshed and confident every time I use it.To anyone considering upgrading to the Braun Series 9 Pro+, my advice is simple: don’t hesitate. The difference it makes is undeniable, and the investment is well worth it. Trust me; you won’t regret it.

Expensive but will last for years
I replaced my 7 series and the build quality seems to be just as high. The 7 lasted 17 years. I didn’t really NEED to replace it but the metal coating started coming off on the head and I would have anxiety of it working loose during a shave and slicing my face. It wouldn’t but that’s just my intrusive throughts working against me.Yes, this thing is crazy expensive for a shaver but average it over 20 years of use and it’s really a one of the best investments you can make. It shaves close, it’s quieter than the 7 seriese, and it feels really nice in the hand. The washer is smaller and looks nicer, and is also quieter than the original. What’s awesome is that my old cleaner packs fit in this cleaner base, too! I was scared because it looked smaller but they do fit. This is what I love about braun. Unlike most companies that constantly redesign things to make people buy new consumables, they kept this the same. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it! It was a relief to know that the cleaner cartridges I bought in bulk won’t go to waste. Thanks Braun! The only thing that bugs me is how the trimmer flips out but it annoys be because I’ve been doing it a certain way for 17 years. I’ll get over it with time. lolKnocked a star down for the price but if you wait for a black Friday deal, don’t hesitate, your face will thank you.

One of the Best in All My Years!
I think I go back to the time when electric razors were invented!!! This one is much better than the “old” rotator version. It shaves very smoothly, and it has never caught up. It is easy to clean, and the battery seems to last longer.

Itâs expensive but does a better job.
Iâve used the Braun shavers for several years. The last one was an older Series 7. It was and still is a pretty good choice. There is a big difference between the two. The Series 9 is a much better electric shaver. Is it worth the price difference? My best analogy would be the difference between a Toyota and a Lexus. Theyâre made be the same manufacturer and both get you where youâre going. The difference is the Lexus is a little more refined does it in a lot more comfort. If you want to pay the premium price go for it. If you need a pretty good shaver at a better price look at the Series 7 or 8 they wonât disappoint.

I bought this as a replacement for my aging Braun Series 5 Model 8000 that I bought when it first came out. At the time, it was pretty much the top of the line and it has served me well for many, many years. Aside from the clipper in back, which finally snapped, it still works, though it really shows its age. Over the years, I replaced the blades and foil many times and I decided that the next time I needed to replace the foil & cutter assembly, I’d just get a brand new razor.I expected the Series 9 Pro+ to be an improvement, but I was surprised by how big of an improvement it is. I deliberately didn’t shave for a few days just before receiving the razor, to put it to the test. The Series 5 would have been uncomfortable at this length and I would normally have done a pass with the clipper first to give it a hand. I gave the Series 9 no chance and set it straight to the days-old beard, and it went through so smoothly that, for a second, I wondered if the foil had just slid over my beard, but no. The beard was gone where the razor passed. I was quite impressed. Now, while this is the best electric razor I’ve ever tried, it still doesn’t stand up to a fresh razor blade. The shave isn’t as close as a blade (and we shouldn’t really expect it to be), and while the first pass does a good job, I need to do multiple passes to get my skin feeling smooth, especially in the throat area. But it’s still fast and comfortable. I alternate between a blade when I show my face to people, and the electric razor on lazy days. This Series 9 will probably get a few shifts on non-lazy days.

There is an aracheology of dead electric shavers under my sink. I likely grow steel wool from my face and head, and I needed a good shaver that didn’t take me an hour of passing over the same patches until my arms got tired, only to leave a lot of missed bits. Right out of the box, under five minutes for a full head and face shave. Part of me was in disbelief and wanted to keep going because I have never used a shaver that worked this fast. If time is money, this model really makes bank for me. A shave without aggravation? I thought that was as likely as a rainbow unicorn. A bit on the pricier side, but I suppose the alternative was to buy four off-brand cheapies from somewhere like Wal*Mart at the same price for a crappier shave, and likely less durability. Some have mentioned the noise. I could care less. I don’t find it all that noisy, and it is not like I do all my shaving next to sleeping people anyway, which would be rather weird.Good battery charge. I’ve had it a few weeks now and it is still on the first factory charge. No sensitivity issues, either, but my skin is leather. Neck area isn’t always perfect, but I don’t think any shaver can do that area full justice anyway.

Bought this last night after much deliberation due to price. Yes it is expensive; however, it is well worth it considering the performance and shaving capability. This unit is solid engineering at its finest and smooth unparalleled performance in a handheld. I switched from blades to this simply due to blades being stupidly expensive and did the math that 7 months of blades will pay for this. Highly recommend it. You wonât be disappointed. Donât believe those who try and sway you from this product, it is quality and you will always have that one person claiming that Walmart sells a better one for 30$. They simply donât.
