Great overall product without harsh scents
I used this on two older and large breed dogs. They only get a bath every couple of months when their fur starts to feel greasy. I had to soap up and rinse my dog twice before I got a decent lather from the shampoo, but that’s partly because of the amount of grease and oil in my dog’s fur.Other reviews are right about the soap not bubbling up like other brands, but I’m okay with it as I know the shampoo is gentle on the dogs skin.Both dogs tolerated the bath well. For the first time my dog didn’t roll around on blankets, carpets and other furniture after the bath. I suspect this is either due to not feeling the need to cover up a “gross” fragrance, or simply not feeling any skin irritation after the bath. I can only imagine us “hairless apes” are pretty strange with our obsession to overpowering artificial smells of plant genitalia. I’m sure my dog would prefer a shampoo that smells like poop or rotting carcass, but we have to compromise lol!I’m not ashamed to admit I went through half a bottle and I’ll definitely be buying more in the future.

The three dogs that we washed with this shampoo, have nice looking coats. But there was no pleasant smell, so the odor that they had before being bathed is still there.

Great shampoo
We bought this for our new golden retriever and have used it maybe 4 times now. We love it because it doesnât leave our pup smelling perfume-y and it leaves her so so so soft. Iâve had people tell me to not switch away from what weâre washing her with because of how soft she is. I would recommend!

I have a pug/terrier mix. 14yrs old. 15lb, excellent health no real skin issues but sometimes a bit itchy after her bath. I wanted a shampoo for “winter” baths so her skin and hair don’t get dry. read all ingredients, reviews. chose the gentle puppy 2 in one. perfect. it doesn’t lather/bubble up like others, has no scent. I put a puddle in the palm of my hand and began to rub it into her fur. the more I rubbed the creamier it got and could be spread all over. rinsed very well. i noticed my hands weren’t dried out after her bath as they usually are. i don’t care about “pretty smells” since that’s just fluff for us humans!

It cleans well and smells good. Below expectations on conditioning though. My dogs have short hair, they only need something to hydrate their skin well enough so it doesnât get flaky. Product is very watery so it goes quite quickly. It was not a bad purchase given the price was so good (around $7), I would buy it again if on a budget.

Great for your average dog
The Burtâs Bees 2-in-1 tearless shampoo and conditioner for puppies is overall a great product for the average dog owner. I own a cattle dog mix who is almost two years old. He has quite long and silky fur, a considerable amount of brush on his tail, and no undercoat. He doesnât have any skin allergies. I feel as though I do have to use quite a bit of the product to really clean him all over, but that may be because he has so much fur in some places.I donât bathe my dog often. Iâve only used this shampoo twice in the past 6 months (once when I first got him, and once for the coming of spring shedding). Itâs still about 3/4 filled, or a bit more. I know it should definitely last until the end of the year.It doesnât âlatherâ in the way you would expect a shampoo toâsince it has no sulfates, it doesnât foam up like most human shampoos do. However, a pet shampoo without sulfates is actually a great idea. Sulfates essentially help increase the effectiveness of the shampoo in cleaning dirt, oil, dead skin, and all that other junk. On the other hand, sulfates can be too powerful and strip away the natural proteins and oils from hair, which can cause irritation and damage. Your dogâs fur is their first line of defense, so you donât want to damage it! I would always recommend to go for a shampoo without sulfates, like this one.Iâm not sure about the other varieties of the Burtâs Bees for Dogs shampoos, but as for this one, when it says no fragrances, it means it. This has absolutely no scent. I noticed a couple of the other ones might smell like lavender or apple, but this one? Nothing. So after the bath, my dog just smells like wet dog until heâs dried. If that doesnât bother you, this one could be for you. If you want a more pleasant scent, maybe you could try another variety, like the calming shampoo? Regardless, the lack of scent doesnât change the effectiveness of the shampoo, and its scentlessness/lack of fragrances is great for sensitive dogs.I canât speak for all owners, such as those who bathe their dogs often or show them, but for an ordinary dog owner who just bathes their dogs a couple times a year, this one could be for you! For only $7.49, this lasts a long time and works tremendously well. My dog always gets compliments on his coat and Iâve been asked if I take him to the groomers. 🙂 All in all, itâs a bargain for a new puppy or dog owner.

Tengo dos border collie con piel muy seca y alergia a la mordedura de la pulga, aunque haya una pulga les provoca una comezón horrible, traté de todo hasta que encontré este shampoo, fue como magia desde la primer aplicación, la comezón se les redujo en un 95% ademas de que les brilla muchÃsimo el pelo y les queda super suave. Es obvio que al ser libre de sulfatos no va a generar tanta espuma y tampoco huele a nada, los perros quedan oliendo a limpio. Para los que esperan algún olor en especial seria conveniente que supieran que las fragancias causan alergias a los perros.
