Our dogs say two paws up!
Update. A year of running through the brush and woods, camping and walking with our rough and tumble beasts and these harnesses are still the best I have ever owned.Bella’s is starting to show some effects of the wrestling and competition for the ball. Boonie likes to half stand on her back with his front paws as he is running back with the ball. It is funny to watch and amazing that he can run for a few feet with his front paws on her back while she is also running. It is only cosmetic damage probably from his claws. there are a couple of quarter inch spots on the edge where the orange fabric has pulled from the binding but the harness is still strong. I use the handle to help lift both dogs in and out of the truck.Bella’s harness also came in very handy when she had surgery on her neck for a pharyngeal abscess and couldn’t wear a collar but needed the cone of shame so she wouldn’t scratch at the incision site. We bought them before going on a three week trip camping across the country and back with our two Field Bred Springers last Sept and Oct 2016. They fit 43 lb Bella and 45 lb Boone great but could be adjusted much larger for a bigger dog. I have them fit snug to prevent grass, sticks and burrs getting between the harnesses and the skin.We wanted something that would be comfy for them to wear, easy for them to walk and play in, easy to help them in and out of our big truck, something reflective for visibility and easy to get on and off. I chose the blaze orange because at home we live in the woods and there are hunters around in the fall and our dogs run in the acreage out back and in the woods when we are enjoying nature. Orange is the best color to see in the woods and is universal language for hunters.A plus is the front dee. I like the tag mesh to keep the jingle quiet even though I haven’t used it yet. The front dee has made walking Boone dog a pleasure. I work with him on leash but he is just so exuberant that he can’t help himself and pulls. He will choke himself with a training collar and I am always afraid his regular collar will come off when I need it to stay on. Clipping the leash on the front of this harness makes him spin around when he wants to run after a squirrel or pull hard. My arm is so happy.I read that tip in the reviews before I bought these and with all the choices on Amazon it helped me decide to buy these over other good looking and functionally similar harnesses. When we were at the camping event we traveled for they made name tags for the dogs too and we clipped them to the top dee webbing. Everyone there loved the harnesses. There were lots of dogs but ours were the only ones who were reflective and high visibility.I knew I had chosen the right harnesses for us when they arrived and I adjusted them to fit each dog. They are very adjustable and strong enough to pick up our 45 lb male with the handle. We tested it to make sure it would stay on in case we needed pick him up to put him in the truck or to haul him out of a mud hole or if he went through ice. He is the adventurous one and even though we haven’t needed that functionality it is nice to know the harness can take it. They way these fit make it possible. They didn’t rub anywhere and the dogs wore them all day every day for three weeks and even after wearing them at home they still look new. I haven’t let Boone wear his to swim or roll in the mud though. They were tired by the time I shot this. You should have seen the springing kangaroo dogs when they were fresh. The harnesses fit so great it is like they aren’t even wearing them. A great harness for my young, strong dog.
I have been using this harness daily for over four months now for my 18-month old boxer-pit bull terrier mix. When I adopted her, she was such a puller I could barely walk her. I first tried a prong collar – she obviously had very bad associations and was so afraid and intimidated by it. So I got one of those front attachment harnesses that impedes their ability to run – worked, but she almost pulled all the way out of it chasing after a cat, and it just looked so awkward and uncomfortable. But then I ordered this harness – magic! It worked as well as the “easy walk” type, but without constraining her legs, and it is much more secure. She’s never pulled out of it even partway. And, miracle of miracles, when I attach the leash at her chest, she just doesn’t pull much at all! Better yet, she loves it. I also sometimes use chain or nylon slip collars, but this harness seems to control her better, and it is totally her favorite.Now for the technical stuff. It is very easy to put on, and with the clips right at the upper shoulder, it comes off quickly.. Now that it’s warm, I usually take it off between walks, but it seems comfortable enough to wear all day. It was very easy to adjust. I have tightened up the “fittings” every so often, but it never loosened a lot in a short time. It’s an attractive harness, and the reflective stuff is nice looking and a great safety feature. It seems very sturdy, and is holding up well to frequent, heavy use. Both front and top attachments are very secure and strong. And I especially love the top handhold… that has been hugely helpful a few times when my dog was “wound up” and I wanted to restrain her from going after another dog or squirrel. My gal is sweet, but a handful and very strong, I’m an almost-70-year-old grandmother, and this wonderful harness has made out new lives together so much easier and safer. Thank you for providing it. Only improvement – more colors!10/14/2016 Update: I have used this harness for nearly 7 months now, and it has held up well, even with letting my dog wear it all day around the house between walks. More importantly, I’ve tried out a few other types of harnesses and collars, most recently the Freedom harness, but always immediately go back to the Chai’s Choice as it seems superior to all. I use both the chest or top loops to attach a leash, depending on my current need, and both are perfectly placed compared to other harnesses. NOT using neck pressure just makes so much difference to my very reactive dog. Anything that reduces adrenaline output is a plus, and this harness does the best job for us. She still likes it, and as I’ve gotten used to it I’ve found it even easier to quickly check and adjust for adequate tautness, right while she’s wearing it. Not true of some other harnesses. I am delighted to see the new colors (wish there was red!), and am planning on getting a new fuchsia one, with matching leash, before long. Just a GREAT product.

We’ve tried many: this is the best.
We have been adopting dogs for forty years. We have six at present. At least four of them get walked every day, on a rotating basis. Over the years we have tried many harnesses. Surprisingly many are so badly-designed as to be unusable from the start. They don’t fit right, they chafe, they’re a struggle to adjust or put on, they slide off to one side, they have to be painfully tight lest dogs pull out of them, and so on. Others wear out in short order. This brand is the best: comfortable, very adjustable, durable. We have literally never had any of ours break in any way or wear out, and they get heavy use. The various “add on” features: the handle (helpful in assisting older dogs), the double attachment points, the reflective material, etc. are all functional and actually useful. So this the best you can get, and the price, given the intelligent design and on-point construction, is very fair.

Have used this harness for about six months. I love it. Have gone through a couple of harnesses for my walk strong GSD this one is by far the best. It has not rubbed her wrong to create bald spots and still shows great durability. Definitely recommend

my old English mastiff at 190lbs can use this with 4 fingers of room left at full extensionhis head is 31″ wrapped around the ears,and his chest is 40 just behind front legs where thestrap goes. all snug measures. dog loves it, will play, walk and nap with it on, but doesn’t keep it on.it’s seems very well built. but i do question the back strap, it seems backward since the reflective tapeis on the inside on the lower section.
