    Sturdy and lightweight.
I bought this trowel to try it out but was not very optimistic. I was very surprised to find that this trowel is very sturdy and got the job done digging through hard rocky soil that had tons of roots running through it. This travel was able to cut through the roots and dig through the rocky soil.It is very lightweight to the point where you hardly even notice it in your pack.

Affordable but really effective. Bagpacking, Gardening, Everything that involves digging holes.
If you only think about price, this Canadian-made trowel outfights every other trowel I’ve seen. It’s amazingly sturdy for a plastic trowel and it has really sharp edges as well! The only downside is that is not as portable or lightweight as the fancy bagpacking trowels out there, but for the price of one of those you can buy a lifetime supply of these!! About 5, because they are STURDY. OH! I’m a gardener as well so I bought one for my yard as well and I can say that it holds great too! Stones will mess up the edges a little and with time it will get blunt but nothing that some creativity (for sharpening it again) or another trowel won’t fix (if it wasn’t clear, they aren’t expensive)After using it I’d like to add, you wont be forgeting this trowel in the middle of the woods because this thing is BRIGHT! Amazing color specially if you’re like me and you sometimes forget things at the camping site

Good for a light hiking or camping pack
This trowel is a good choice if you need something smaller and lighter than a camp shovel/e-tool. It’s what I keep in my camping pack for when I want to dig a small fire pit, shovel some dirt or sand on campfire embers, etc. It’s also a good choice for metal detecting on loose or sandy soil.Would I want to dig a latrine pit with it? Absolutely not, just like I wouldn’t want to fell a tree with a camp hatchet. But if I’m camping it’ll probably be at a state park or other maintained area, and I just don’t see the need to dig giant pits or trenches. I can bundle this trowel unobtrusively into my pack and ignore it unless I need it. Since it’s blaze orange, I’m also less likely to misplace it. For $6 this is a win.

    Works as intended.
Light weight, digs well. Try to avoid roots and rocks. Cuts through grass and small roots easy enough. Will dig up pea gravel but not good for rocks, This is not a pry bar so don’t try to pry out rocks. You’ll damage your trowel. Then you’ll have to use your knife or a stick to dig your poop hole.

    Strong!
Great value and very sturdy and strong for being polymer. Feels much more sturdy than some of the aluminum ones out on the market.

    Uncomfortable handle
Lightweight for a backpacking trip, but the handle isn’t the most ergonomic. A bit painful when digging in harder packed soil. Will probably use something else in the future.
