In this pocket reference, Nicholas Pearson offers a quick-start guide for working with crystals as well as a full-color A-to-Z compendium of the healing properties of 450 crystals, rocks, minerals, and fossils.
Covering the basics of crystal healing, Pearson explores why crystals work, how to select stones, safe and effective cleansing methods, and hands-on techniques and practices to harness the power of rocks and gems to transform your life. He also looks at how to charge crystals and program them for specific purposes, and he examines crystal correspondences with planetary, astrological, and elemental energies.
The encyclopedia of crystals includes familiar ones like agate, calcite, rose quartz, and hematite as well as rarer and more unusual crystals, such as phenakite, cavansite, and yooperlite—some of which have never before appeared in print. Each entry features a beautiful color photo of the stone and defines its physical, psychological, and spiritual healing properties and its corresponding chakra, element, planet, and zodiac sign. The author also looks at the geological nature of each stone, such as its hardness and crystal structure, enabling you to explore the connections between mineral science and the metaphysics of crystal healing.

A Great Resource
I love how easy this guide is for me as a beginner learning about crystals/gemstones (450 are in this book). Also, there are tips regarding care, cleansing and charging. There is a picture of each stone along with a description of the physical, psychological & spiritual healing properties. I definitely recommend this wonderful resource book.

VERY PRACTICAL
Did not know at the time of buying it that it would be a small book – Size of a pocket… Great to carry with you. We went to an exhibit last week in St Petersburg Florida showing beautiful precious minerals. It was very convenient to check the meaning of each stone before committing to purchase it…

Perfect go-to reference, portable and easy to read
Succinct and easy to use as quick reference on the go. I bought the larger book with same title and like it too. Different purpose – for more in depth explanations of 200 gems rather than 450. This is my go to book first and the other when I need more info. Love them both!

Handy reference
This is my first crystal book purchase as an adult and Iâm so glad I got it! Iâve always loved rocks and minerals and recently found a little booklet I got as a kid that covered about 10 crystals. Crystal Basics Pocket Encyclopedia is a major step up with so much information. I love that is has both the geological and metaphysical information. Iâve grabbed it multiple times since it arrived and I really love the size and how handy it is.There was one part that really made me stop and think under the Choosing Crystals section (p.20), ââ¦crystals you feel a strong aversion to can also be important for your personal growthâ¦â I have to admit that there are some crystals that I immediately turn away from and never considered what the author goes on to say about that. Iâll be referencing this book often!

I keep this in my purse, and use this book daily. You will not be disappointed
I love EVERYTHING about this book. It is has replaced (I mean almost) every one of my other crystal books. I love that it has all the info I want and none of the info I donât really need. If I need more info, then itâs easy to look at one of my other books or google. This book is amazing and I recommend it to every single crystal lover I know!

my go to POCKET SIZE crystal book!
Very nice reference and my go to POCKET SIZE crystal book. The information is not as small as the size of the book. It is concise but covers almost everything I’m reaching out for it for. The author is very humbly knowledgable and he does the Q&A live on his Instagram to answer questions. So good, very recommended!
