Better than Carb Nada in Taste/Texture/Price + Reaction on Blood Sugar the Same
I’m a type 2 diabetic and up until recently I usually used “Carb Nada” noodles because they are very low in carbs compared to other pasta, even the whole wheat kind. However, though the Carb Nada noodles are pretty good, I really prefer the taste of Dreamfields but I was very afraid they’d spike my blood sugar terribly so I didn’t buy them. What prompted me to try them was reading that they only have 5 grams of digestible carbs which honestly, I thought was kind of a crock really because they have 41 grams of total carbs, 5 grams of fiber and 31 grams of what they refer to as “protected carbs” leaving 5 grams of digestible carbs……that kind of sounded like a gimmick to me but when my local grocery store began carrying this brand I decided to give it a try.HOORAY! They are telling the truth! While these do spike my blood sugar, it’s much less than regular pasta and about the same as the Carb Nada.I like these noodles better than Carb Nada for texture and taste and the Carb Nada only comes in wide/flat noodles – no elbows or spaghetti shapes. Also, Dreamfields is easier to find and it’s less expensive as well so I’m going to use up my Carb Nada noodles (the wide/flat shape is great for soups and they do taste pretty good) but we’re switching to Dreamfields.I must mention that one of the men in my diabetes support group said these noodles didn’t work for him. He said they spiked his blood sugar as much as regular pasta but both my husband and myself found that wasn’t the case for us. Everyone is different so before you buy a whole bunch of these, you might want to just buy a couple of boxes to see if they work for you.

I like the Angel hair pasta as it cooks quickly and is very tasty. Great for the base of butter and parm. My granddaughters favorite.
