Effective
My daughter has been sucking the same 2 fingers since she was about 4 months old. Sheâs 5 yrs old now, & it was time to break the habit. This stuff worked great. Itâs been a few days, & this is the longest sheâs gone without sucking on them. Iâm hopeful that it will continue to work.

Great for baby
We have a 20 month old who never took to a pacifier and instead preferred fingers. I have known so many kids who really stuggled to stop ducking their fingers and I figured the sooner we started the process of quitting the easier it would be for them since it wasnât so ingrained. This has been perfect. I applied it once a week for a solid month and she doesnât suck them anymore. It didnât affect her eating though she does love to use the fork more than her hands to eat. Downside was she sometimes puts her fingers in my mouth and I can attest itâs real gross and has a lingering effect.

This worked literally the same day I put it on my side. He hasnât put them in his mouth since the only downfall is you have to paint it on their nails so make sure theyâre sleeping because I have to dry.

Bought it for my 2 year old who has a bad habit of sucking his thumb. Iâve used other products in past but wanted something that would not wash off. I was very excited to use this product as it was in a form of a nail polish thought it will last longer and will have a stronger effect than other products out there. Boy was I wrong. The night I put this on my sonâs nail he didnât even flinch and he was back at sucking his thumb. I tried it out again during the day and still nothing. I also noticed that since this is a nail polish it does peel like a normal polish so technically he is ingesting it.. not a big fanâ¦

My son got used to the taste
This almost worked for us but ultimately didnât. The first time I applied it on my 3 year old, he just nonchalantly took his thumb out of his mouth every time. He didnât seem bothered or disgusted. This lasted about 4 days before he started again. I reapplied and he started sucking the next day. I reapplied and he sucked on it 20 minutes later. I put more coats on and it worked for about a day. So he must be getting used to the taste, and now heâs worse about the thumb sucking and has moved to rubbing his ear and arm while sucking. So Iâll have to get something more bitter. I really wanted this to work and was hopeful. It doesnât have a smell and dried fast.

Success After Reapplying
This product worked great to prevent my daughter from sucking her thumb at first, but after just 2 days she stopped complaining about the taste and snuck her thumb back in her mouth. I was shocked because I thought it would last longer than that. I had to reapply, but eventually it did help.

I have nearly 8year old twins. They have been sucking their thumbs since they were 3 1/2 when I took their pacifier cold turkey. It back fired ð¤¦ââï¸ we have tried the gloves, reward charts, designated locations they are allowed to suck their thumb (not a fun place in the house, recommend by their dentist), ect. Nothing has ever worked. I out this just on their thumbs over top of pretty colors. The first time they forgot and put their thumb in their mouth they were very unsatisfied with the taste. But within 24 hours they were not even trying to suck their thumbs and they were not at all bothered by the fact they couldnât do it anymore. I only had to do this 1 time, never even had to reapply. It has been 2-3 months now and no sign of thumb sucking!

Stopped by 3.5 year chronic thumb sucker with just one use
I could cry of happiness over how grateful I am I discovered this product. I have a 3.5 year old daughter who has been sucking her thumb quite literally 24/7 since she was 3 months old. She developed a habit of pulling her hair while sucking her thumb as a soothing mechanism when she was around 18 months old, to the point where she was balding/thinning on one side of her head (this is called baby trich). We came to the realization that because her hair pulling went hand in hand with the thumb sucking, we HAD to get rid of the thumb sucking. stopping the habit was a medical necessity for me, and i wasn’t going to stop until i exhausted every single option.She’s a sassy girl who does what she wants and we tried EVERYTHING to get her to stop – sticker charts, bribery, mittens, I even put a T-guard on both of her thumbs for 40 days 24/7 – i was that committed. nothing worked until I got this. I applied a few swipes to both of her thumbs right before bed, when she went to suck her thumb she at first didn’t have a reaction. so i applied it on her cuticle area in addition to a few more layers on her nail and when she went in to suck her thumb she was completely grossed out (it’s disgusting, i tried it). i don’t know what sorcery this is, but it must have tapped a severely grossed-out hormone in her – it’s been nearly a month and her thumb has not gone anywhere near her mouth. i wanted to wait a few weeks before writing a review because i thought it was too good to be true – i literally only had to use it once and she hasn’t sucked her thumb. i truly never thought i would get her to stop, and was extremely stressed out about this bc of the hair pulling. (ps she’s not pulling her hair anymore!)if you have a strong-willed 3.5 year old girl like mine, tell them it’s “princess lotion” when you’re applying and they’ll let you do it lol.TL;DR: RUN, DON’T WALK.
