Good gifts
Very nice item to hand out as gifts.

Quick handy lifesaver if you know how to use
These are great for limited storage space and act as an improvised Bivy Bag which provides about 15 degrees of Fahrenheit rating. Essential that users know they cannot fall asleep fully clothed in the bag as it does not breath. If you do you, will wake up with all clothing soaked with moisture from your body and will lose most of clothing insulating capabilities.

Pit away for just incase
You never know when you might need something like this. I put them in my 2 person GO bag. Way more compact than 2 sleeping bags and just warm enough to keep you alive in a survival situation. The compasses are absolutely cheap junk but thatâs not the reason I bought this product anyway so I threw them away.

Good to have!
I like the size and weight of these. They are good for our hurricane supply box or for keeping in vehicles for emergencies. I don’t want to be without one.

Actually, compass works well
I am writing this review to refute others who have said compasses are junk. It is not the manufacturer’s fault if you don’t know how to use a compass properly and there are numerous websites to help you dig deeper into this seemingly simple tool.In one review, the writer uses a cell phone to determine true north and has 2 compasses, one about 11 degrees east of north and the other exactly opposite. The compasses are clearly working correctly–one is finding magnetic north, which is off of true north depending on where you live, but on the west coast USA, about 11 degrees east. The other compass simply has reversed polarity which can be corrected with a magnet (see any website on reversed compass polarity).Trying your compass indoors, around large metal objects, near cell phones, or near other compasses interferes with the magnet. There is actually a “proper stance” for using a compass and you do need to make sure there is no interference. When I tried my compasses indoors, they were expectedly wonky. So, of course, I took each one outside separately to test them. They both went to magnetic north. The housing is actually more robust than other cheap compasses I have owned. The point of this review is to not avoid these bags because you think the “freebie” compass is junk. It’s not. The second point is education on how to use a compass correctly because they aren’t foolproof.
