I have a very large cat who recently had a month long medical issues that caused us a lot of back and forth to the vets. My carrier was too small since he was no longer a kitten. I purchased this out of an emergency need. I must say I was a little skeptical when I saw the large size but it was perfect for my 22 lb cat. The top loading was so easy, especially with his cone. I liked the fact that I could fold it up to put it away but he actually likes to just hang out in there now so we just left it up for him. I’m happy with this and it worked out great. Everything is sturdy and high quality.

Bigger and Heavier than I Expected
This carrier is pretty heavy just on its own. The frame is built to be sturdy and provide adequate rigidity when unfolded, by using metal supports and buckled straps to tighten the cover and secure to seat belts, which makes it seven pounds on its own. Once it’s set up it is pretty solid and stable, but it is bulky unwieldy to carry, particularly when you have one or two moving creatures shifting inside. The handles on either side make it possible for a two person carry, though then are just nylon strips. The zippers seem sturdy, and each have clips to lock from being pushed open from inside, and there are two lanyards inside to clip in harnesses for greater security. The mesh is breathable but durable, though it does not provide any cover for more anxious cats. It’s easy to wipe down, with a removable fleece topped liner that’s easy to wash. There are some fabric tabs inside that are inviting to anxious chewers, which we are considering cutting out. They don’t appear to have any function.To get it set up takes a little muscle because of the tension, and one of our supports had a loose screw when ours came in, that we keep feeling like we need to check to make sure it doesn’t come loose again. It feels like it is a better option for setting up in a stationary place first, then placing cats inside. I would not want to have to move it a lot as a carrier. Maybe for use in hotel rooms or in vehicles. Or this would be a great way to corral a new kitten to keep them out of trouble overnight. Our cats favorite configuration is a playpen with all the doors open so they ran run through it. It folds fairly flat to store out of the way when not in use.

A large carrier. Great for larger cats, a couple of cats, or a smaller dog. I htink 50 lb load capacity. Soft sided but structurally secure. It has thick, strong bars inside to keep its shape and to even allow it to be stacked or allow a cat to sit on top. They show this in their product picture!Optional shoulder strap, has handle strap, has lots of openings, has a pocket. Has spot to use along with a seatbelt. Has some zipper security via using a clip to keep the two zipper pulls closed. Overall so long as the zippers hold up, this should be good to use for a long time. I will be sure to update if I experience anything negative.Arrives flat in the collapsed state. Just have to pop it open and secure the top stabilizing bars. You can kind of see it in the product pictures. There are no instructions with this, but it is easy to figure out. The downside to these strong bars is that I found them a little tricky to initially get locked into place. Both sides have 2 short bars that come together to create one long bar. One portion has a pullback sheath which will help lock the 2 bars together. All of it pressure fits. To get the bars to line up, you will have to pull them apart enough to allow the innie & outie to line up. Once they lightly lock in, release the sheath to cover the two bars, which full locks/secures them. I found that it was easier to do this by having the side I am working on up against my body rather than trying to do the set across from me. Just gave me more leverage. I have to say, I dont want to do that again, so I havent. So while this carrier could be collapsed for storage, I am just keeping it as is forever more, lolThat being said, it is a nice carrier! It’s big, so some may find it burdensome to carry. I like it for a couple of reasons, one of which I’m pleased to see someone else mention: as a sturdy carrier to stuff a couple of cats in case of emergency/evacuation. It’s roomy, has plenty of mesh for airflow, and seems sturdy. Next, because it is big and sturdy, I can use it as a piece of cat furniture. The blue color I chose is attractive, and I have already been complimented on it.I keep this in my home office (my gaming room) that is also where I keep a lot of cat related stuff. The whole house as cat and dog stuff, but this is their room that the dogs cant access. Loaded with climbers, food, litter, toys, etc. My girls like to hang out in there, so I have this as something else they can sleep on (I added a pad on top) or sleep in. If I need to use it for travel, then they will be well familiar with it already.I initially was going to give this to my mom to use for her 2 cats (large ragdoll boys, similar to what is shown in product pics) but she is super petite and 74 years old, so I think this is too much mass for her. I figured it would be better for me (much taller, stronger, younger) and my 2 tortie cats. 12 and 14 lbs.I want to add that I appreciate that they used real pics in the product description. Not photoshopped cats on/in the carrier or people holding it. Real pics.
