You can have it charge its self while in use.
Purchased these lights for an emergency black out and they did their job. I really like the little solar panel as they dont need direct sunlight to work. I was able to charge these on my window seal in a snow storm and they lit right up and kept my lights charging. Also to get around them going dim after 5 hrs I placed the solar panels near by while in use so that they can charge themselves throught the night and they stayed bright well over 10 hrs. When they are done charging the light turns off not green. The panels can also be used to charge other devices I used them to charge my AAA batteries for my lantern as well. These are cool little emergency lights. The only thing I wish is that I got the ones with the remote and also would be cool if they could change modes like the yellow warm color but I still give them 5 stars for lighting up my home reguardless and keeping a good charge for 3 days strait through the self charge method. I would recommend these for sure. And will buy more as well.

Don’t overcharge battery.
The lights are great, but the instructions did NOT say to avoid leaving the panel plugged in fir long periods if the light will not be used. I overcharged one of them and it no longer works. My mistake. But I still recommend this product. It works great when used mindfully.

Nice item, solar fuction makes hard to charge
On brightest setting only runs 3-4 hrs. Item isn’t super bright but for my needs it was fine. It emits white light which I prefer over the more orange glow type. I was never able to get the bulb to charge full using just the solar panel. Even in almost direct light, my guess is it take 3-5 days like other solar items which for me isn’t practical. I charged these using my own mini usb cable plugged into wall amd they charged fine, no indicator as to when it was full, I’m assuming 5-6 hrs. The remote feature is very cool, I used this bulb to light my tv at night and its nice to be able to shut off/set timer with remote rather than get up when I’m in bed and tired. I still don’t know how you control both lights with 1 remote. I think you can only do 1 in that case. Item IMO isn’t worth $25 unless you have a light you don’t need to light often and an area where light is needed more than 3 hrs a day and also are able to hang the solar charger in direct sun for 3-5 days between using light 3 hrs. I paid $9 for out of box model and it was a steal at that price. The remote is very tiny and can easily get lost plus takes weird flat batt so factor that in when buying. I contacted the company for a refund and they haggled me a bit but then finally refunded me. I think they wouldn’t have full refunded if I paid the $25 over the $9. Anyhow my suggestion is unless you plan to have solar charger in direct sun and don’t need to use the light often that you get the regular charge ones which run only about $6-8 each. The solar is a good idea but not 100% practical. Remote is best feature on this item. Thank you for reading.

Great for camping or in the chicken coop!
I ordered this to use in my chicken coop since they don’t see well in the dark and were not going in once dusk set in. The cord is very long so stringing it from the center of the 10′ x 12′ coop to mounting the solar panel on the roof was no problem at all, I even had to wrap up some of the leftover cord. The timer was especially handy because we don’t leave a light on all night for them, just long enough for them to get in and settled. The other light we took camping with us. It works PERFECTLY for that. We just put out to charge all day while we were fishing and hiking then were able to hang it by the picnic table and with no cord to deal with once charged were able to hang it in the tent to use after dark. I definitely recommend these!!!

Nothing close to being what is advertised. Such a waste of money.
The first solar panel lasted 1 day – our steer chewed through the cord. That was definitely my fault so I tried again. We attached the second solar panel to the same light and the light worked when turned ‘on’ but none of the other settings work. I purchased this particular one because it had an ‘auto’ setting. Pushing that button makes the light flash once but it never does come on no matter how dark it gets.I’ve had it up for less than 2 weeks and it only comes on using the remote ‘on’ button randomly and seems now to have stopped altogether. If I hadn’t waited a couple weeks to first start using this (my coop wasn’t completely ready yet) I would definitely have returned it. Sad that I wasted so much money and still have nothing to show for it.

I installed these to green house specifically for Venus traps. Before they were strangling to catch anything but once I put light right above the plant and added 3d printed dome that light only shines the plant all traps are closed every morning digesting something. It charges all day and eliminates plant while night.
