Used As Rainfly On Tent. PU3000mm Is Very Good. Saved Our Recent Camping Trip.
Purchased Green 116.5″x104″ on 04-24-2024 for $20.29 ($28.99 – $5.80/20% Coupon – $2.90/10% Discount).I didn’t buy this to use as a tent footprint or as a ground tarp. I got it because of its very good PU3000mm rating so I can add, should the need arise, a second layer of rain protection on our tent.On our recent camping trip, rainy thunderstorms chased us for about 2 weeks at several National Parks. When we were pounded by the first heavy rain with gusty winds, water trickled down and into the tent at 2 corners and dripped from the ceiling after defeating the tent’s rainfly. (This wasn’t an old, weathered tent; it was purchased in August 2023. It had only about a week of camping under its belt, and this was the first exposure to rain.)That need for a second layer of rain protection came sooner than expected…Subsequent to the addition of this cover over the rainfly, there were no more leaks. Nothing bled through the Frelaxy. No more water leaks into the tent.Is it truly PU3000mm? Only time (and rain) will tell. What I know is that it was definitely good enough to prevent rainwater from getting into the tent during some heavy rainstorms. The cover is very lightweight and thin, which is a double-edged sword. It’s very compact for storage, but the thinness of the fabric also means that it won’t react well to nor survive the rigors of stress and friction from tugging and rubbing.I expect—with careful use—this to last for a season or two. After that, I expect that the lightweight fabric will begin to suffer punctures and/or tears. It’s too bad that Frelaxy didn’t use a thicker fabric, it would’ve made this much stronger and more durable, and I would’ve given it 5 Stars instead of 4.

Fits nicely under my night cat tent.
Itâs a nice lightweight footprint quality appears good, fits well under my tent, much easier to use than a heavy tarp, price was reasonable.

Waterproof fabric but terrible design
I brought this tarp camping for the first time (donât be like me, check your new gear while still home) and it has one major flaw – the red trim is sewn tighter than the tarp material so no matter how taut you try to make it, the tarp will collect water when hung up. If you plan on using it for the ground it probably doesnât matter but if youâre to use it as a canopy, it will not do. I ended using it to cover my wood instead and it did seem waterproof.
