I’ve been looking for a bookshelf to put my small book and manga collection in, the only problem was that my room has floor carpeting and I was afraid that if I bought a bookshelf it would fall over. I ended up buying this looking at the reviews, it was fairly simple to assemble I did it on my own but the instructions say two people are recommended. While it is a bit wobbly, probably due to the carpet, it still stands up straight and the boards don’t bend but this might depend on how much weight you put on there. The instructions recommend you don’t got over 15 lbs per board but I’m not sure how accurate this is.Overall, I think this works perfectly and if you have a small book collection this is a good shelf for the price you pay for.

Not complete essentials missing bookcase
I did not receive any of the screws nails and 3other pieces.20 screws,2x24nails2.5 by 18mm. Cannot put together without them.So sorry found them on floor.

Love my new library
I bought four of these to shelve my books and love them. Very easy to put together, good and sturdy for flat pack shelves.Most bookshelves are way deeper then they need to be for hardcovers, much less paperbacks, and take up an annoying amount of wasted floor space because of that.Each individual shelf was tall enough to hold standard and even slightly taller hardcovers and trade paperbacks easily. Not many “oversized” volumes, but I expected that.All four were bought from the warehouse, so they were returns and the packaging was obliviously not perfect (one had been re-packed). And one did not have all the needed screws, but I was able to use some basic hardware store wood screws as substitutes with no ill-effects. All the pieces were in perfect shape nonetheless.

You get what you paid for–cheap, okay shelves but not great
We purchased these shelves on sale for about $35, and I would definitely not pay more for them. They are basic, cheap shelves, so if that’s all you are looking for, they’re not a bad option. However, they did not work for us. For one thing, the particle board is very cheap and split in many places when we nailed the back onto it. (I’m a pretty good big box store furniture builder, so this was not user error.) The bookcase itself was pretty wobbly and I worry about it falling on my kids when they try to get things off. Also, some of the pilot holes for the screws on the side were not very well done so it was very difficult to get the screw in the right spot. Also, it was not made clear in the description that the shelves were fixed, not adjustable, so some of the items we were hoping to put on these shelves were just barely too big. We ended up initiating a return and purchasing something a little more expensive but hopefully a little better quality, and with adjustable shelves so we can fit what we’re needing to on the shelves.

This shelf unit holds quite a bit and is very sturdy. Assembly was not too difficult and I am very happy with what it able to hold and have no concern about over loading a shelf as far as what it can hold. Would buy again

Low Quality
The description says wood/engineered wood but you are not even getting plywood here, just particle board. The back comes in 3 pieces which just looks ugly due to visible seams unless the bookcase is full, which it won’t be because it couldn’t withhold the weight of having full shelves. Low-quality nails and screws are provided with no spares. The holes are pre-drilles but that doesn’t matter much since particle board splits open so easily from screws and nails, and tends not to grip onto them very well either. This bookshelf is basically engineered to fall apart within months. The shelves are too short to fit many upright books/file folders, and they are not adjustable.For the same price as this when it’s on sale, you could get a bookshelf from a certain swedish furniture outlet that would last atleast four times as long and have adjustable shelves straight out the box.I regret not doing my research.
