This is a high quality cutting board
This has become my every day cutting board, I leave it out as it looks so pretty. It is very hard wood, doesn’t scratch, and rinses off quickly and clean.

Good quality, used for engraving for a Christmas present.

Splinters !!!
Is this a joke/scam? Itâs literally an unfinished piece of wood, FULL of splinters. See photo attached, so disappointed in product. dangerous should not be sold at all.

Does the Job
LIke other reviewers said, it did come with a spot of wood putty on it. It’s in the juice groove so I have little concern about it. Otherwise it’s a nice wooden board, perfect for cutting a small loaf of bread on the flat side. Not too thick but good for the price. Oiled it well and I expect to get many years of service from it.

I make plaques with them. They work great and look very nice.
You will have some splitting of the slat interfaces at times with these, but I think it adds to their beauty. I use them for making plaques with a laser machine, Then finish with Walrus Oil. They turn out nice. The wood is pretty dark, so the contrast between the lettering and the wood face isn’t super high, but that adds to their uniqueness. My customers really love them.

Itâs Acacia Wood!
The Israelites built the Ark of he Covenant out of acacia wood as requested by God. (For more info on the Ark of the Covenant see the documentary âThe Raiders of the Lost Arkâ) After Reading Exodus with my menâs Bible study group I promised to find a sample of acaciaâa very hard and very brittle species of hardwood. After researching prices from hardwood dealers, I decided to just disappoint the boys as the prices were EXORBITANT! (What isnât expensive anymore?)Then I found this cute little cutting board sold by Glad. Who knew? It came cut and routed and finished for about one sixth of the price for a comparable board. It arrived a few days later having been broken down a center grain into two parts (thus the 2 stars, though Iâm sure the good people at Glad saw it leave their warehouse as a finely crafted piece of kitchen-worthy fare, and letâs not forget the hardworking family of Thai artisans that originally produced the product with all the love and devotion that only a hardworking family of Thai artisans can muster. No, I imagine the gentle hands of some overworked USPS handler may have had something to do with the state of its arrival. But 2 stars just the same.) Anyway, for my purposes it worked out well. The hardness level was evident, and the brittle nature of the species was demonstrated by its state of arrival. (And that corroborates my previous testimony!) All ended well and now the two pieces of acacia have taken up residence on my workbench and cluttering up my life. (Iâm too lazy to take them all the way into the next room to the scrap bin.) The moral of the story? Acacia cutting boards sold by Glad are hard AND brittle so if you work for the USPS go easy on them as they get sorted into that big hamper bound for Illinois.

This is a nice cutting board. Good quality, light weight, easy to use and to store.

Glued pieces – Not solid
Warped and split after washing.

It works for me.It’s the perfect size for my use. It does seem a bit thin, but I won’t be taking an ax to it, so it should be okay :-)I expect it to last, as long as I take proper care of it.

It’s been working great so far and hasn’t split under the pressure of my cleaver yet. I can see what others are talking about with the shavings coming off the board, though they’re small shavings and don’t bother me much. It takes 2-3 washes/scrubs to completely get rid of them. I would take care if you’re worried about shavings getting in your food though. I just prep meat for my cats so it’s not really a problem for me.

Returned for the following reasons. Both cutting surfaces a bit rough. Could easily get bits of wood in your food. Needs sanding with a more grits per sq. inch sandpaper. Board is 4 slats glued together and one of the joints on the one we got had gaps.

It’s nice looking, but needs to be oiled frequently, warps very quickly is very small and is already separating. We turn it over when it warps until it warps the other way, and we always dry.it when it gets wet.I thought Glad would make a better product than this.
