Each stone is discussed with the same topics: History & legend; healing properties; magical properties; Chakra classification; star sign; and application & care. Additionally each entry has the scientific data: where found; color(s); chemical composition; hardness; available forms; and crystallization. Oh yes, and there is at least one picture as an example.I have had the book for a while before I realized it had a handy index in the back called, “Your Personal ABC of Crystals & Gemstones: A Home Pharmacy of Crystals and Gemstones.” Lists various things like “Allergies” and then lists various stones which can be used to assist in combating allergies.There are other books that are more comprehensive about many many more stones/gems, however this one is compact, covers a lot of the basics, and is easy enough to carry. It is the best ever intro book because it gives consistent , easy to read, and understand data.

This book is great if you’re interested in healing crystals and gemstones! Very informative All stones are listed from A-Z with nice color photos and detailed information including the history & legend of each crystal or gemstone and what they are used for. There’s also a chapter on zodiac signs. Each zodiac sign is listed with their own personal gemstone. This book is helpful as a reference guide from beginners to advanced crystal and gem enthusiasts!

Wonderful beginners book
I purchase this book because I am digging deeper into the healing properties of crystals. This is a very good beginner’s guide with pictures. I of course did not realize that it did not have every single type of crystal in it when I purchase this book because I have since purchased a bunch of crystals that were unable to be identified by this particular book. But it has all of the classic favorites and a few Oddities. But overall it is a great beginner’s guide but if you want a detailed guide you should probably get the crystals encyclopedia as a follow-up.

I was so impressed by this book, and it takes alot to impress me.It is an easy yet intelligent read.All the gems are in a-z order for quick reference.The amount of information is wonderful as well as well put I highly recommend this book.It is made well, has wonderful pictures and is just perfect for it’s purposes.If you are into healing or not this book is also historical and I love that.A1 from me, great job!

Great addition to any Novice or Esperienced Novice
I love this book. It lists everything in alphabetical order and it gives information regarding the use in different zodiac signs as well as their legends and how each stone applies to its sign; or not. It lists properties and information that is additional to anyone who uses stones in connection with their birth sign. You won’t regret this purchase!

I love books on crystals and I really like this one. There are really great pictures and good information. Each crystal gets 2 pages with 1 big picture of crystal and one small. Information is broken down under different headings.
