A Perfect Gift
I ordered this for my brother and sister in law who live out of state. You cannot go wrong with Hickory Farms, they have been around since before I can remember. Since I was not the one feasting on this scrumptious collection I had to wait for the brother to give me his thoughts – which if you have a younger sibling you know how frustrating it can be! Getting decent comments was like herding cats – I cleaned them up a bit and listed them below:1. Summer Sausage – comes with 3 logs – he said they were delicious on crackers and cut up into mac and cheese (seriously you cannot make these things up)2. Cheese – 1 brick of a medium sharp cheddar – he said he shredded it and put it into his homemade mac and cheese (which unlike the summer sausage incident was pretty smart)3. Crackers – 1 packages – he said they were okay – not Ritz but not bad4. Mustard – 1 small jar Sweet Hot Mustard – he said he used this on sandwiches made with leftover Christmas ham – again pretty smart – maybe he isn’t so annoying after all – Nah – he is5. Bon Bons – he said he could not give me a review of these because he never got to actually try one – said the wife ate them before he had a chanceI highly recommend this gift set – the perfect “I have no idea what to get them” gift and appears to be very tasty.

Nice assortment, but VERY SMALL sizes.
Good products, but better for one person and snacking. They are not the size for even a small party dish. It’s better to buy the full-sized Hickory Farms summer sausage and all other items at the grocery store. It would cost less for more food. I won’t be buying the gift assortment again.

Over priced, Tasted bad, made us sick
Over priced let Down. and caused serious stomach issues!! (It’s been many years since I ordered a Hickory Farms product, but I remember quality a good flavor in the past purchases. Something has definitely changed.) I ordered this product for my husband as a treat. First: packaging was nice. Quality and flavor: um…to say it was gross, is being kind. The tiny block of cheese tasted a like cheap processed wierd substance. It did not taste like real cheese. The meat, flavor was also lacking, and texture was also off. Crackers, most of them arrived broken but tasted edible. Mustard we did not open.. The strawberry candy was the only hit. About and hour after we ate the product we both had serious stomach upset, and my husband rarely has that issue. 2nd time we ate it, stomach upset again. We threw the rest of it away! Yuck! I don’t recommend you send this as a gift, unless it’s to some one you want to punish with indigestion.
