    TOPRATED rechargeable headlamp
I got this because it reminded me the headlamps characters used to wear in cartoons. It has the head strap and a giant light housing on the front. It’s a heavier headlamp, so I suggest wearing it over a baseball cap for added stability. The light covers a wide area in front of you with a nice spotlight right in the center of the circle of light. I don’t use the auto on/off mode bc anything moving around the bottom of the headlamp with turn the lamp on or off. I’m sure if you okay around and practice you can get better at avoiding the auto sensor to control the light.Lastly, the battery can be used as a power supply for external devices. There are a USB-C port and a usb-A.

A super-strong searchlight for your head.
Aldres Headlight reviewIf you’re looking for a head-mounted searchlight, look no further. This headlamp throws an amazingly strong, narrow beam a very long distance. It is super-concentrated and will illuminate anything several hundred feet away. This is the headlight I’d like to have if I’m out at 2 o’clock in the morning trying to track down some horses if they’ve gotten loose. However, the lens on this thing is huge! It is by far the biggest headlamp lens I have ever used. And although it is made of plastic, the size of the lens and its length extending forward from the battery pack cause it to want to droop forward when wearing it strapped directly to your head. Walking causes the headlamp to want to fall down over the bridge of your nose even when the straps are tightened up. So this is a unit that would be best worn over a baseball cap or hard hat–anything to keep the lens from falling down off your forehead and onto your face. But the biggest drawback is that the beam has a set focus. It is not adjustable for near and far use scenarios. Because the light is so concentrated into a small area it is not a very good light for working up close. In addition, there is a noticeable dead spot right in the middle of the beam when working close. This is not a light you want to be using to do repair work or any other task near at hand. There are four light settings: 1) full strength, 2) reduced brightness, 3) strobe at full brightness, 4) motion-activated on/off at full strength. In addition to the main beam, the lens does throw an additional halo of light around the center, but it is pretty weak.As far as build quality goes the flap covering the charging port is very flimsy and comes open very easily. This would give me a pause using it in the rain or other wet conditions without putting a piece of black electrical tape over the flap.I also don’t care for the fact that the battery indicator light is always running further drawing down the power of the battery pack. This headlamp has a motion activated sensor so you can turn it on and off with a wave of your hand. Why this would be of value I do not know. The on off switch is easily found on the bottom of the lamp. Besides, any motion would turn the lamp on automatically which is a definite downside as it could accidentally be turned on during the day and not be noticed. So be sure to manually turn it off before storage, or you may find it drained when you need it.Because I am outdoors at night a lot during camping season, and because my horses usually do get loose during the night at least a couple times a year, this will be a unit that I will keep handy. But it is way overkill for cooking over my little camp stove or lighting up my tent. The best use for this headlamp would be for illuminating objects at some distance, so it would be good for search and rescue, seeking lost animals at night, or checking on outbuildings and other large objects in a security setting. Just don’t plan on doing any detailed hand work up close. It comes with a USB-C charging cable. I only tested the device for a short period and cannot attest to long-term usage.

    Huge Light!
Well it was much larger than expected and kind of reminds me of the ones that the miner’s used back in the day. However, it’s really great, puts out a huge amount of light and has safety features like a motion sensor, and flasher. The light has a hinge on it for easy adjustment, and adjustments for brightness intensity. Another great feature is that it’s rechargeable! This would make a great caving light if that’s your thing. It’s good quality. I give it a thumbs up!

I got it for the hands free on-off
The only reason I got this is for the hands free feature. I already have an excellent COB headlamp that I’ll still be using 99.9% of the time. There are rare instances where a motion activated headlamp would come in really handy, though, like field dressing a deer or cleaning some fish after dark. I’ve got plenty of lighting for general illumination in these situations but there are times during the process when you need to spotlight a particular thing and when your hands are covered in goo, this will be a life saver. The lighting pattern is not great – a small, bright central spot with a fairly broad peripheral illumination. Not great but it will do.The over the top of your head elastic strap is something I would never ever choose under normal circumstances but as I won’t be using it that much, it’s tolerable. When you see an over the top of the head strap it usually means that the weight distribution on the lamp is less than ideal and that is the case with this one – entirely front heavy. My COB headlamp has the battery in back and the lamp in front and is close up to your head so no need for an over the top.I like having this available for when those instances arrive that I outlined above, so entirely glad I have it. If you have a need for the hands free part of it then I would say to go for it. If you just need a headlamp then I would look elsewhere for a better fit.

    Poor light versatility
I’m not impressed by this light. It has a fixed focal point with a very bright center and a quite dim broad dispersion. For a few more dollars you can find a much better adjustable light with rechargeable batteries that actually last most of the night.I do not recommend.
