Customers say
Customers like the taste and teeth cleaning of the pet food. They mention it’s good for dogs with an odor problem and even digestive issues. They also appreciate its effectiveness and breath quality. However, some customers have reported that the pieces are too large and hard to chew for small dogs. Opinions are mixed on the value for money and hardness.

Wow! After 3 weeks, WHITER TEETH and dogs think its a bowl of treats!
What a surprise!!! Unbelievable how well my poodles love this food! They are simply not chewers, and it has been difficult to tolerate my 5 year old teacup’s breath (5 lbs soaking wet) and she has developed bad teeth. When I had to make an appointment to have a couple removed for her, along my 2 year old (8 lb) poodle began showing staining teeth and developing bad breath, I knew things had to change. I began searching for oral care treats and discovered this food. I poured thru so many reviews and decided it looked promising. Wow! After 3 weeks the results are impressive! They are now on Bag #3. The dog kisses are much more welcomely recieved! I bought toothbrush and toothpaste now as well and just went to brush their teeth, and the 2 year old’s teeth have completed brightened back to a new white! The stains are completely gone! The tiny teacup’s are also noticeably brighter, and breath is down to mild instead of ð¹ðð²ðµð·.The most enjoyable part is dinner time. They love the “meatball” size and taste of this food more than any bag dry food Ive ever seen from any dog. They seem to think they are getting a bowl of treats!! The little one takes her food to the bed inside her kennel, then she will even stay in it and “guard” her morsels for hours to make sure the other dog doesnt get hers. My boy poodle has a different habit- his favorite things go out the doggie door. For instance, he will sneak socks, paper towels and all the best toys are discreetly taken outside to be enjoyed privately. And that now includes Hill’s Science Diet Oral Care dog food-one piece of food at a time. They eat each piece slowly, and never a crumb left behind.Other dry dog food varieties seem to scatter messily at the bowl or to the rug, or land in the water dish. Those problems are gone!Aroma is positive as well, if that concerns anyone. Since I always scoop with my hands, I like to be able to tolerate the smell too since I am physically touching it everyday. (I do so because they smell me and my love for them on their food. Silly, maybe but I saw it on the Dog whisperer…), This food smells fresher somehow? Maybe its the parsely, but it does not smell like typical dry dog food, but has a light aromatic scent the dogs enjoy but it does not entice a human to want to eat it….lol.Price: Very satisfactory. Love the subscription delivery plan, with added discount. And even costs less than my local Petsmart. For the results, quality and meal enjoyment the dogs are showing it gets 5 stars from us.Con: available sizes My 2 dogs are fed 1/2 -3/4 cups each food per day. I am on monthly subscription and one bag does not last thru next delivery. I Increased to 2 bags/mo.

the ONLY thing that I find keeps my dogs teeth super clean year on end
I am a long-time practicing veterinarian – and of course, have looked at a ton of different dog’s teeth and gingiva; most have overt plaque and gingivitis – it is hard to prevent with dogs beyond puppyhood. Accordingly, I am extremely diligent in checking my dog’s dentition. Gratefully – and amazingly even to me – my 6 year old dog’s teeth are as clean as a typical <1 year old dog -and I attribute this 99% to Hill's Science Diet Oral Care. I have tried Greenies, "Plaque Off", multiple types of toothbrushes/toothpastes, other oral diets (notably, Forza10 Nutraceutic Active Line Oral Support Diet Dry Dog Food is helpful) and rope and bone chews, but every time I cut back on this Hill's Science diet, plaque and gingivitis on the back molars of my 13 lb dog's teeth become evident to me. Only in keeping my dog on this diet, do I keep her teeth truly exemplary clean. She likes this kibble well enough (I've even used them as treats in tossed toys), though, commonly she eats around these large kibble bits until all the other food is gone -as these take effort for her to break up and eat. That's the point of these large hard kibble. But I will keep with this, as it clearly ensures my dog will have healthy teeth and gums for all her life. Notably, I mix these with other kibble and cooked veggies for meals- so only including these as ~ 1/3 of her diet is required to keep her teeth clean.

Must be tastier than Hills small paws kibble!
I was skeptical about this since my 1 y/o 10 lb poochon is such a picky eater, but I went with the small size bag for her teeth health. I am impressed how she enjoys eating such gigantic nugget, far more than her usual kibble (Hills little paws chicken puppy, smallest kibble out there). My dog is not an agressive chewer, especially on the food side, she doesn’t enjoy treats like rawhide or porkhide, but she seems having no problem chopping down this hard nugget. It is hard, but more airy and crunch inside than her usual kibble, so less dense. She rarely eats breakfast when I give her usual kibble since she has less appetite in the morning. When I mix this into small kibbles, she only eats this giant kibble. So I ended up giving her this (6 nuggets) for breakfast, which she devours slowly but surely(Amazing!), and give usual kibble in the evening. My dog hasn’t had teeth problem yet, and I hope this kibble helps to prevent one! I will keep buying this as long as my dog keeps liking it!Update: Feb 2020My now 11lb dog finished 4lb bag in 3 months. She still likes it, and big nuggets in the morning and small kibbles + wet dog food in the evening works fine for her. I do notice her breath is fresh, except for the morning breath. She is now 15 months old, so still too early to tell, but the vet said her oral health is very good for now. I also notice there is no plaque building up. I am subscribing this now, and recommending around other dog owners. As for the reviews that complains about the size being too big, I believe it’s up to your dog’s preference, rather than the size. I had 5lb yorkie came over, and she destroyed 5 nuggets in no time, loving it. I guess this is worth trying!2nd update March 2021:I have kept my dog’s diet as I described above over 1 year now, and my dog is 2 and a half year old, who won’t allow me brushing her teeth at all. She doesn’t like any dental chews out there, so basically this kibble is the only defender for her oral health. That and her love for antler and chewing on soft clothes toys, are what I guess helping her teeth healthy. She still prefers this over her kibble, and she eats average 4 to 8 nuggets of this everyday. Her theeth are in a very good condition! I believe it’s safe to say this food really helps dog’s oral health! Regardless of dog’s size, it depends on each dog whether he loves this or not, but if he does, this is a must have item! I highly recommend.

One of my three dogs had thick layer of plaque on his teeth and brushing was just out of question.Came across this product and going through the reviews thought about giving it a try, though it reached after a long wait, I was surprised at the results after 7-10 days, his teeth were all clear and back to natural white.I give 4-5 pieces daily to them

only thing about this food , which is a dental food is that the kibble are very big and i felt my dog had trouble chewing them at times. Not sure what it is in the kibble but if definately change the colour and consistency of his poops…TMI i know but just to give you a heads up. His breath seems to be better also

We use this for our dog and also our Daughter uses it for hers, she recommended it for us when we got our dog. It is very good for their teeth and they seem to be bright and white after using it for a year. It seems big in size but our very small maltipoo has no problem eating it.

Definitely great as a daily treat, not as daily food for small dogsâ¦.. unless you want to be woken up constantly for potty!
